Pooch Parlor La Dogue Spa Flossmoor Pooch Parlor Extremely rude woman refused to return my dog after grooming unless I paid more than agreed on Homewood Illinois

I brought my dog into the Pooch Parlor (AKA La Dogue Spa) in Homewood, IL last week for a bath and haircut. At the time, the woman working there quoted me a price, which seemed fair for the type of dog and the services I was asking to be performed (albeit a little high compared to what similar establishments were charging for the same work). However - when I went to pick him up, they asked for almost double. As soon as I asked why, the woman’s entire demeanor changed. She immediately became very petulant and loud, and told me that it was because my dog was "being very difficult”, and that I would not be able to get my dog back unless I paid this new, higher price. I asked if there was someone else there I could speak to, to which she responded: "there ain’t nobody else here”, told me she was the owner, and said that "if I didn’t like it, I could find somewhere else to go to”. Obviously, I wanted my dog back and that was not going to happen unless I paid this new (quite frankly exorbitant) price. Plus, at this point, I was kind of nervous to leave my dog alone with this woman, so I paid her and left with my dog. This is absolutely a bait-and-switch tactic, as well as extortion, and is a completely immoral way to run a business. I will NEVER go to this place again. When all was said and done, my dog’s haircut looked very half-hearted; and I honestly do not think they gave her the bath they charged me for (it literally smelled like someone sprayed her with Febreze, and her fur was full of knots). I would strongly suggest that anyone reading this stay away from this place. You’d be better off going anywhere else.
