Pop Labs, Inc. ,Webxites, LP Provides Poor Service and Dares You T Fire Them , Internet

Look at the other reports of POP Labs on this same website.  They are a very good approximation of our experience with POP Labs on getting our website up and running (or not up and running as the case may be).

Basically, these guys have a sales force which is geared toward saying whatever you want to hear in order to be closed as a client. 

For example, in our case they told us all we would have to do is provide pictures, white papers, bio's and such . .. and they would dig into learning about our comany and industry and create the entire website including copy written by a professional copy writer.  All we would have to do is tweak, proof, and get images for the content.

They also tell you all this should be done in approximately 45 days.  Needless to say we were a little disapointed when they sent us an enormous list of basically every page of the website that we needed to write copy for.  Oh yeah, and they did not even get us that list until DAY 93 of the process, more than double the amount of time it should have taken them to create the entire website!

A partially completed version of our website finally went up on DAY 174 of the process (that's almost 4 months AFTER their proposed timeline for those of you keeping score)

Our attempts to get the rest of the website up were so frustrating that we eventually had to look into other options, at which point POP Labs had the gall to suggest WE were in breach of contract and tried to charge us for the entire amount of the contract.   Oh yeah, and our "Free fourth month" only cost us $700+.  We got some sort of convulated explanation about them only waiving the POP Labs portion of the charge.  That might have made sense if actually had a website up at the time and it was going towards PPC or something, but since we did not get a website up for an additional 90 days or so it did not make much sense to us. 

The only person who was not a disgrace to work with is not even there any more, presumably because they had some integrity and could not stand to be there.

Don't even think about doing business with this company.  Rude, condescending, incompetent.  This is the only company I have ever dealt with that bumping things up to the owner of the company resulted in exacerbating a dissapointing situation. 

If by some unfortunate mistake you are already a client of these guys, don't bump things up to Gene McCubbin . . . he will threaten you with his lawyers first and ask questions later (all while being rude and condescending).  You will be better off hiring your own lawyer first, or simply resigning yourself to dealing with them. 

Make them clock their time for you.  They are obligated to give you up to 30 hours of work each month.  I would hold them to it.  Make them make changes to your site every hour or something just to get your full money amount from them.

Be sure to check out their parent Company (according to Inc.com) "WebXites" at the BBB.  According to them, they have been banned from doing business in the state of MO by the Attorney General.  Nice.  To bad they weren't banned in Texas before we met them.
