Pop's Hand Wash Lube Oil Change Ripoff Bronx, New York

Sign posted at Pop's for oil change at $27.95 plus tax.  The posed sign did not state we will only change your oil unless you request otherwise.  Nothing mentions "no filter check or change."

As stated by all car salesmen, manufacturers and anyone who drives, an oil change consist of draining oil from car and a filter change.

I requested work not be performed as oil change should always coincide with a filter change.   Pop's refused to refund my money and instead requested I sign a document stating I did not want my filter changed.

I asked for a refund in leiu of agreeing to sign the document.  I was never asked if I wanted to have my filter changed.  This should be automatic when an oil change is performed.  As a seasoned car owner and driver, why would I want to pay $30 for a few quarts of oil. 

I reached out to the neighboring police department for assistance to resolve the issue.  They suggested I take the owners to Smalls Claim Court.  During the process they discovered the business is operting under an expired license (13397967, as of 11/2009).
