I ordered several paintings from portrait-painting.com and was informed that shipping would be about $180. I was OK with that as I knew paint was heavy and I thought it might require special handling, etc.

After receiving my order (it took over a week to ship) from portrait-painting.com I came to understand that the actual cost to ship was about $48!! I am OK with paying for packing and processing but they are clearly masking lower product prices with excessive shipping charges.

I don't like doing business with stores like portrait-painting.com and I know many others don't as well so I wanted to share my experience.

Competitor Filed The Report - Not a Real Customer

AUTHOR: PP.com - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, March 16, 2017

Unfortunately, this review was submitted by one of our competitors and not a real customer! The user name of the initial poster is “David 1st art”. Although we should not answer to such unfair and untrue reviews we would like to point out the following:

1. Please visit our Facebook page. We have more than 1000 reviews of real (!) customers. It is easy to verify their Facebook profile and many of them decided to share their artwork. All of the reviews posted there are 100% real.

2. We offer a very low flat rate shipping fee. No matter if the painting is framed or if several paintings are ordered at once. The flat rate shipping fee ($29) will remain always the same. The accusation that we charged someone three times the true shipping fee is technically not even possible, as the system adds the flat rate shipping fee automatically during the checkout.

3. We do employ international artists. While many are located in the USA, some are located in the UK, Australia, Canada and Asia. The criteria for inclusion in our network is not location but quality of work.

We are the market leader in 100% hand-painted oil paintings from photos and we understand that some competitors are jealous of our client base, however, posting “fake” reviews online is a thing we wouldn't have expected to encounter.
