POWER MART REWARDS AND TRUST INC. TRIED TO SCAM MY PARENTS..... BUT I KNEW BETTER! TORONTO ONTARIO CANADA

My parents recieved a letter from POWER MART REWARDS AND TRUST INC., stating they had just won $125,000 and they had been trying to contact them and were unsuccessful.
They had a claim number on the letter along with a authentic check... for the amount of $4,980. It stated on the letter that this was the FIRST CHECK and that they needed to CALL FIRST before deposting the check to give them all the information needed about collecting the rest of thier winnings.

I called and i could barely understand the young man... But he told me that i needed to go and deposit the check and then call them back to let me know where i needed to send the money to "report and pay the taxes" due on this winning $2,980.

And that after that is taken care of, within 30 days my parents balance of the winnings $120,000 would be Fed Ex'd to thier home. But the money for the taxes needed to be sent either by Western Union or Moneygram.
Thats when i knew something was wrong.

I Immediatly called the Bank which the check was issued from. SUNTRUST BANK (a legitimate bank) and they asked for the account number on the bottom and let me know that it was a "fraudulant" check.
Thank God, that i did some investigating before my parents got scammed and would have lost out on $2,980 .... or even more once the check would have bounced.
BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!
