On Jan. 21,2005 Ireceived 2 letters in the mail. These letters contained instructions and a photo of jesus to use as a prayer rug. The letter gave step by step detailed instructions on how to use the rug and it requested an undetermined amt. of money be sent back within 24-hrs. of receipt of letter. I was suspicious so I looked up the church on the internet only to discover all the ripoff reports. It appears everyone in my very small n.w. fla. town received the same letter today. Maybe you can send a message to all post offices throught the u.s. to alert them to discard or not deliver these letters. THe envelope it came inhas a nonprofit org. u.s. postage paid permit no.6655 also stamped mailed from zip code 21233. This seems like mail fraud to me.

The Saint Matthew's Church

AUTHOR: Evie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, May 21, 2007

As I have been reading all the different responses about The Saint Matthew's church, no one has mentioned the Seed Harvest Plan.
Any christian knows that the bible states that we reap what we sow. and we all should tithe 10 percent of our income.

I dont know what saint matthews church all of these people have been going through, but the one i am seeding to has been aronung sence 1951.
And my address for them seems to be different.

I have been doing this Seed Harvest Plan for a while. I have been blessed in every way from my donation that i make to GOD, and He knows whats in my heart when i seed to Him. Every one of my prayers have been answered. All the health issues, money problems. Every time i have a problam i need prayer for, I get out my seed booklet ,tare out a slip, send a couple dollars to my Lord, write out my needs and send it off. Then I wait and recieve answeres to my prayers. Works every time.

thank you for your time

This is a scam, not a church

AUTHOR: Lorraine - Geek Consumer Advocate :-) - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, January 27, 2006

21233 is the area code for Baltimore, MD. I find no reference to that city on their offical website, so it more than likely is just a mail drop. This is a RipOff, do NOT send them money. Some people do enjoy sending them back other junk mail in the prepaid return envelope they send with their request for your hard earned money though, judging by what I've read online.

The letter is from Reverend James Eugene Ewing, who operates out of Los Angeles. There is a Saint Matthew's Church in Tulsa, but the return address on the envelope is to a post-office box and that particular church has nothing to do with it. There is not now, nor has there ever been, nor will there ever be a Saint Matthew's Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Their attorney advised them to have mail sent to Tulsa because their lawyers and accountants are based in that city.

Ewing began as a tent-show revivalist, finally coming up with the idea of sending a trinket to the masses and asking them to send money to have their prayers come true. It seems he's been raking in tens of millions with this little game.

Their official website tells you their church, Saint Matthew's Churches' Mother Church, the Cathedral of Saint Matthew, is located in Houston, Texas.

Envelope Says "Business Reply Mail"

AUTHOR: Cynthia - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, January 27, 2006

The reply envelope I received today says nothing about it coming from a non-profit. Rather, it's a Business Reply Mail envelope. If it were truly a non-profit, they wouldn't need to have a fake non-profit postage on the original envelope it's sent in. If there's some way to look up whether it's a legitimate non-profit permit, that would be good to know.
