Pre-Paid Legal Services Inc. Pre-Paid Legal Associate Manager Says The Plan Is Garbage! Ada Oklahoma

I have been a member and independant associate of Pre-Paid Legal for almost three years, and I also serve in the U.S. Navy. I have sold many plans to Navy personel as well as other friends and family members, and I have risen to the level of Manager.

I have made small amounts of commision, nothing to brag about. If I was all into it I probably would have done better. But this is not about me selling the product, this is about the product itself.

I have tried to use this service a few times through my provider law firm in Portland, Maine to no avail. My first incident was in April of 2005, when I was pulled over for a broken tail light. Well, it turned out that my license was suspended for an accident that I had earlier that year. I was not aware of this, and I was arrested and taken to jail.

Well, it turns out that my license was not supposed to be suspended, because the reason for my suspension was because I did not have insurance when I was in the accident. But this was false, and the insurance company messed up, and I got the paper work necessary and showed the police officer at the station the next day.

Well, the station did not update this on my ticket, even though it was dismissed, I still had a court date. I did not know this, and when I missed my court date, my license was suspended. The provider firm did not want tohelp me with this case, unless I paid them $240.00 an hour. I was like, I have pre-paid. Well, that's only 25% off our rate, says the attorney.

Bullshit, so I let it slide and go back to court myself. I get the case dismissed because I had my paper work. But I couldn't drive on base for 6 months because my license was technically suspended, and that's the rules. Even though I won the case.

The second time I tried to use this service was when I was on deployment. The water in my house went out, and my wife was staying ther alone 5 months pregnant. She called the landlord, and he todld her "he would get around to it." she told me this, and I got very upset. I called the landlord from ITALY and told him to put her up in a hotel until it was fixed. He refused and said he would fix it later.

So I called my provider law firm. He called me back in Italy, telling me that "the guy seems nice and says he's gonna fix it." What the hell, right? I told the attorney that this is against the law because the house is unlivable with no water, especially with her being pregnant. He would do nothing.

So I called Navy Housing and told them what was going on, who has nothing to do with the house I am renting, and they called the city, and the water was fixed the next day and she was in a hotel that night. All with no help from Pre-Paid Legal.

I am ashamed of mself for selling this crap to people, because t adds up in fees, and the service is worthless. I have tried canceling my service, both selling and subscription. It has been 2 months and they still keep taking my money.
