Precise Drain Cleaning Plus LLC Nathan Greenberg Outrageous Bait & Switch Addvertisement Midvale, Utah

DANGER!!! STAY AWAY!!! ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! I was responding to an ad placed by them on KSL.com. The headline read: $48, DON'T BE FOOLED BY OTHERS, PRICE IS FIRM!! First of all, the price is ANYTHING but firm. The up-sell started over the phone when I explained my problem to Stephanie who was very nice and polite. The ad goes on to state: Precise Drain Cleaning will clear your drain for $48, NO GIMMICKS!! Don't be fooled w/ others that say one thing over the phone and when they show up add on extra fee's. Its a classic misleading Bait & Switch operation relying heavily on semantics and plumbing terminology used literally. If your bathtub is backed up, it could be in a feeder line to the main line or the main line itself. Neither of those are technically considered drains and subsequently cost extra. So, when Stephanie understood the issues at hand, the price immediately went to $98. OK, so Im a sucker. It seemed somewhat reasonable if the main line also required attention. Then the technician, Tony, arrives. I explain the situation to him and he says, OK. Please flush the toilet and let me see what happens in the basement. I do.

He takes the end cap off the backed up mainline and drenches the basement floor with the refuse water. He doesnt apologize, offer to clean it up afterwards or seem the least bit contrite for the mess hes created. Then, he looks down the pipe, informs me that the main line is plugged (which Id already told Stephanie over the phone was almost a certainty) and starts telling me its going to be a lot more than Id been quoted. He asks about where the main line runs out of the house and I explain it to him at which point he went back upstairs, tracking filthy boots through my kitchen after having made no attempt whatsoever to clean them before reentering the upstairs living space. Once outside I reminded him about the statements in their ad and explained to him what a classic Bait & Switch scam the ad is and that it is misleading and therefore dishonest. This next part would almost be amusing if I hadnt been so outraged already. He very authoritatively states Its NOT a Bait & Switch. By the way, I have spent 25 years in advertising and marketing and am VERY familiar with advertising law and what constitutes Bait & Switch advertising. This made his defensive denial even more annoying. In the end, I sent them packing and warn others not to respond to the misleading advertising in which these people engage. DANGER!!! STAY AWAY!!!
