First of all, I may be guilty but I blame the down economy. I have stooped as low as to haggle for the cheapest auto work possible here lately. I am not made of money and paying the dealer prices will, well break the bank. So i have started using Joe Blow down the road, and boy has that cost me a lot of time, money, and frustration!
I pass by this said Precision Auto Tune everyday on my way to my office. They are always I mean ALWAYS advertising a special; breaks, tune ups, oil changes, you name it. I took my 2007 Kia Spectra in about 3 months ago for an oil change. I bought the car BRAND new in '07 mind you. The young dimwhit mechanic tried to tell me that my car had been in a serious wreck and was pieced together with odd and end parts. Told me that my belts were replaced with rinky dink belts, and I needed new ones. Told me the transmission was faulty, because after the wreck they put an old one in. I was amazed how he would know ALL OF THIS about my car from looking at the engine block and an oil change. I stood there nodding my head and listening. I asked politely if he was finished.
I proceeded to tell him this. I BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW IN 2007. IT HAD 6 MILES ON IT. NEVER WRECKED. NEVER HAD A NEW TRANSMISSION. NEVER HAD MAJOR WORK DONE. THESE ARE ALL ORIGINAL PARTS, CUSTOM TO KIA.
He said oh, well ummmm. Excactly. I said please top off my fluids and I will leave, thanks!
I was dumb enough, DESPERATE enough to call today. After having my poor Kia in the shop all day yesterday for a new hub and bearing, it needs new front break pads. They have a banner up advertising $89.99 break change. So I called. That price was WAY better than the dealer's and I can't afford $189 for new breaks! woohoo what a deal!?!?! or not.
i called and he said since my car is newer than a 98 it will be a minimum of $130.00! WHAT? I said what about your sign? He said that's for older cars. Well it doesn't say BREAK SPECIAL ON ANCIENT 98 MODELS AND OLDER ONLY.... Jeez. This is false advertising at its finest. These folks are scam artisit to the emph degree.
Stay away from this place. They will try and flush your motor, your tranny, and your wallet if you let them! Stay away and find a new place to take your car!
