Bait and Switch Marine Dealer,  Offers one price on the phone, rips you off when you go to pick up your boat.  Very rude unprofessional man.  Save yourself the trouble and use another dealer.  Offered to fix the Suzuki with one inexpensive way and once the boat was there decided he could only fix the boat for a much more expensive price.

Finally, took the boat somewhere else and got the job done for lots less.  Had to hook up my boat and leave, he said he was going to call the police.  He had not even performed any work, not even opened the engine cauling.

I remembered that a buddy of mine told me he had nightmare dealings with this Robert guy years ago.  This is one bad boat repairman.  STAY AWAY !!!!

My experience with Precision Suzuki

AUTHOR: Luke - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, May 14, 2017

Let me just say that thank goodness I found this Rip Off report AFTER taking my boat in to Robert for a repower.  I must admit, had I seen this before beginning work with Precision Suzuki, I probably would have made a huge mistake by NOT going there and would probably have a couple of ugly black Mercury's on my 1995 Seacat SL1 instead.

In April of 2017 I signed paperwork and left my boat with Robert at Precision Suzuki for two brand new Suzuki 90's.  Two weeks later, I was throwing my boat into the the water for the first time and could NOT be happier with them.  Robert won me over immediately with his knowledge and experience in boats and the Suzuki brand.  He knew exactly what needed to be done on the Seacat and even when a hiccup occurred on the steering bar connecting the two motors, he figured out a way to make it all work out and none of the "bait n switch" crap that this report is claiming.

In addition to all of this, the overall cost turned out to be a little cheaper than what was originally quoted.  He quoted 25 inch mid sections but the boat needed 20's.  He easily could have kept quiet and absorbed the extra amount of money but didn't and passed the savings on to me.

For anyone that has a problem with him and how he does business, you probably don't do very well with any type of mechanic and I can see possibly how you might have pissed him off with your stupidity in second guessing him and his knowledge.  The guy knows what he's doing.  Let him do his job that you are paying him for so he can get it right the first time and get you back on your boat!

Lastly, Robert allowed me to leave my old motors there a few days while I arranged a buyer on craigslist.  Not only that but he accommodated getting the motors into the buyers vehicle.

Thanks Robert!  Loving the new 90's.  Please let ME know if you need to use me as a referral for future business.

Your complaint is invalid

This is an old report made buy a guy who keeps refreshing it each year.  I read this report a couple years ago and I use precision marine today.  #1 Robert doesn't call cops, he can handle the most unruly people. #2 if you dont like your choices in repairs he gives you, go somewhere else.  #3 Robert is a straight shooter and gives you options, he is extremely busy and really doesn't care if he repairs your boat or not.

He's one of the most honest mechanics I know.  Im an aircraft mechanic and car mechanic and Robert is an invaluable source of information.  He will help you do it yourself, so this guy's ripoff report is total b*******.  It's likely an competitor shooting his mouth off.

I have known Robert Mostowski for many years-1985 to be exact. I knew him when he was just starting out in the business. I have never known this man to be anything but upfront forthright and truthful in any dealings with customers. This man obviously has not had any time to allow Robert to speak with him and or rectify the situation prior to flying off the handle for some rediculous accusations that are without merit. I have seen this man take apart and rebuild all kinds of engines with his bare hands and provide excellent service while doing so. If he was caught in an off moment or on an off day and happened to be rude-this would have been a highly unusual circumstance. Personally I do not believe a word said that has been against Robert as he has been honest, highly motivated and customer service oriented. It probably is best this man go elsewhere as he should not have the right to be personally attacking a stand up all around nice guy who has had many excellent years of service and a spotless reputation. I would allow Rob to work on any boat I owned and recommend him to any/all of my friends.

Precision Marine is just that

AUTHOR: Christopher1965 - ()

POSTED: Thursday, March 20, 2014

I have been using precision marine for years.  Robert is the only one I go to with Suzuki issues and I always get straight info and deals from him.  I in fact have used the only other Susuki dealer in the county over on the Gandy bridge area.  They told me thats where Robert was trained and worked for 10 years.  Back then he was a gutsy commercial spear fisherman and all around salt.

I work in Aviation and Automotive for 31 years as a technician.  I don't pretend to know Suzuki's but can take a running DT40 and strip it down to piston rings in under an hour.  I don't tell Robert his business, hustle him or try and bullshit him.  He will get justifiably irate and put you in your place. As a US Marine I wouldn't have it any other way.  Robert will also "hook  you up" if you are building an engine "on the cheap".

He lets me know ALL OF MY OPTIONS and finishes with; "I wont know till I take it apart", this is every good mechanics "Mantra".  Ever heard that before?  then you know you are in the right place.  He shared his machine shop with me, the cheapest in the county!  He proved his parts are cheaper than what you can get anywhere on the net, because he has distributorships.  He has given free technical advice on many occasions and a when I first met him he even soaked a carb for me in his ultrasonic tank, FREE!

The gentleman from GA that wrote all that about Precision Marine has wronged this man.  No money changed hands and Robert would not "call the cops" trust me.  I would hope that Rip Off Report would erase this slight on a fantastic reputation that spans 30 years.  I would classify the report as abuse and take it down.  The GA reporter is likely someone who's customer switched to Robert, that would make more sense.

Precision Marine of largo

AUTHOR: charlie pitcock - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, December 18, 2013

I just want to put my two cents in . I just did a huge purchase with Precision Marine and with Robert (a df 300 ap suzuki ) and I couldn't be happier . He was more concerned with the quality of his work then price , and you don't see that often. Everything he said he would do he did , and he didn't try to jack up the price . After going through the transaction I do not feel like a customer , I feel like a friend! I would refur my freinds and famliy to do business with Precision Marine and Robert.

 thank you

Hoax.

These are some harsh words Atlanta Tom please provide some facts and specific's that support this report. I would like to resolve this issue. Please submit the boat make and model, engine horsepower and year, customer name or invoice number, work we performed, the date this actually occurred, the other dealer you took your boat too to get it repaired here in Florida.

It just don't add up. We are in Florida and your post came from Georgia. When were you in Largo Florida with your boat at Precision Marine? If you picked up the boat and we didn't charge you or even work on it how did we Rip you off? If we didn't perform any work for you or even open your cowling as you stated how do you know that I am a bad repairman? You are talking in circles Sir and you seem to be attacking me personally.

I have been unable to locate any invoices or payment transactions that would be related to this report. All invoices are stored on computer dating back to 1995.

The only thing I might be guilty of here is being rude. We are always very busy and I have to stay focused. Some people like to chit chat and I can be short and to the point when we are busy. This could be misconstrued as being rude. It's the nature of the marine business during the busy season. When I have the time I give it. We are surely not any of the rude defaming comments made in the title of this report.

Sincerely:

Robert Mostowski
