Precision Trading Systems is a stock trading education company run by Mel Raiman. The company offers stock selections and educational seminars on trading equities. This report focuses on the seminars offered by Mr. Raiman. I attended the last PTS seminar held in February, 2008 in Atlanta, GA. The vast majority of the information Mr. Raiman covers in the seminar is completely worthless. Ignored are crucial subjects such as stock selection, trading entry and exit techniques, trading setups and trade and money management.

Instead, participants are provided with a pathetically thin course manual that lacks any useful information, and are then forced to listen to hours of stories about one of Mel's former students who is supposedly very successful. The "state of the art" trading platform that Mr. Raiman talks about is not anything special, nor is the mix of common technical indicators that are used in his approach.

Everyone I talked with was highly disappointed with the PTS Seminar, and I personally felt completely ripped off. My requests for a refund from Mr. Raiman have gone unanswered.

I highly recommend that anyone who is considering taking the PTS seminar call Mr. Raiman and ask him some very hard questions, including whether or not he, himself, is a successful equity trader.

Hedge fund managers and other professionals us PTS!

AUTHOR: David M. - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, July 20, 2008

Precision Trading System and Mel Raiman's Statistical trading platform have nothing to do with simple explanations of money management or simple definitions of trading terms.

I too am a PTS grad (May 05) and was new to trading. Much of the 2 day course explains and reviews the subject of Statistics which I took in college while obtaining my B.S. in finance. The instruction manual given at the course guides you step by step on how to set up the charts and explains how to read and use the statistical platform. Just like a college/univerity level class you were and are expected to take notes.

Finally, there is no "holy grail" system out there when it comes to trading and attempting to pull consistent profits from the markets. As vast, diverse and competetive as the market are I will look to science...and statistics that Mel R. as so accuretly constructed rather than a cheap book labeled "trading for dummies" written by an english teacher.

Thank you,

Sincerely,

David Mote

P.S. All trades and results are available by visting the PTS setups website.

I Must Agree!

I'm afraid I must agree with the negative review of the PTS seminar. The one held in February 2008 was terrible! It's really too bad because Mel can pick stocks, he just doesn't teach you how he does it. I think he's more interested in getting everyone to sign up for his charting platform. My guess is he gets some kind of kickback from the company that markets the thing.

Some people came all the way from Europe to attend. I felt so bad for them. At least I only traveled from NJ.

I recommend you stay away.

PTS is a top trading course and the comments were idiotic.

PTS runs an intensive 2-day course in which 1500 individual topics and covered. During the past 4 years, PTS has trained 1100 traders, a substantial number of whom are successful and quite a few who count their earnings in the 7 figures.

The PTS course, its system and software have been adopted by retail and proessional traders world wide and is in use at all of the major stock and option exchanges by market makers, trading rooms, financial planners, etc.

The PTS system grew from mentoring traders and there is not even a charge for the software.

PTS software is currently being used to develop the PTS Stock and Option Setups which are among the most successful available on the Internet. This further validates the system

I am appaled that some idiot can slander an individual and it is printed on a web site. I should have been contacted prior to anything showing up on this site. Comments such as the workbook is thin hardly tells a reader anything about a course that depends upon the participant taking notes. This is a 60-page workbook, not a text. The materials is supplimented by extensive material on the PTS web site (for course graduates). The idea is that participants learn by actively participating in the learning process. They are, after all, expected to trade after leaving the course.

If all this TJ person get from 18 hours of intensive training was "the book was thin", then he is probably an idiot and should have stayed home. The material went over his head. If this is all he can say after experiencing one of the best trading courses in the US, he has no future in trading.
