I recently had Precision Tune tow my car to their shop for repairs. (The tow bill was $90.00 for 3 miles, but times are hard, I suppose.) The car would not start, just kept turning over. I suspected it was the fuel pump, but was told to expect a call after the diagnostic was complete.
I received a call the next evening from Koreen (sp?) who identified herself as Manager. She told me that the diagnostic was complete, and that the fuel pump needed to be replaced...
She went on to tell me that it could also use spark plugs, (which I always change myself,) and for $142.00, I declined. She also told me that there was an oil leak.
She initially quoted me over $1,200.00 dollars, but agreed to put in a used fuel pump if I provided it (without warranty). I authorized for them to change the fuel pump and fix the oil leak, and declined the spark plugs and other unnecessary recommended procedures. I was told the work would be done the following day...
The next day, I received a call from Eric (who also ID'd himself as Mgr.,) who laughed when he told me that the car was ready for pickup, and that there was nothing wrong with the Fuel pump after all. He told me that after they changed it, (at my expense,) that they found a simple wire was out of place.
He told me that the car was running terrible. When I went to pick it up, I drove not a block before realizing that there was something terribly wrong with the car. Eric asked me, "How do I know it didn't run like that before you brought it in?" (They had put it back together wrong.)
The next day, they called again and said that one of their employee's had put the spark plug wires on incorrectly and that the car had been running short of cylinders, but it was fixed and ready to go.
They had not fixed the oil leak. The car sat all weekend.
When I went to pick it up (again,) they were billing for spark plugs. I told Koreen that I had not authorized the spark plug change, to which she responded that it was "part of the diagnostic".
I asked to speak to the owner. When Jim came out and asked Koreen who had authorized the spark plug change, she told him that I had given the OK. I told him she was lying.
Either I had authorized the spark plugs AFTER the diagnostic (when she called and told me it needed them,) or they were changed BEFORE anyone know that the car needed a fuel pump (which it didn't.)
I lost my cool completely. Jim asked me if he should take out the spark plugs they'd installed and not bill me for them. I told him to go ahead and he disappeared to the shop.
After a couple of minutes, he came back with a used spark plug to show me that he'd taken out of a trash bin.
He said that he wasn't making any concessions on the job because he'd put a lot of time into it. I told him he needed to begin drug testing his employees.
5 days. Incorrect diagnosis. Incorrectly putting on plug wires. Unauthorized Charges. Lying and Fraud. Overbilling. ZERO customer service skills.
I paid him, but will NEVER RETURN any vehicle to Precision Tune. What a bunch of amateur slime-balls...

Do not go to either of this guys stores. His staff are some of the most lying sons of a b****** you will ever find. This owner does not have proper equipment to work on diagnosing customers vehicles. The manager at the other store said over the phone and in person that the owner just won't purchase the right equipment to keep up with the damand of vehicles being driven these days. If you check Dexknows and other places you will find more complaints about this owner then any other stores. Local shops in the area have bad information about this owner. THIS STORE IS A JOKE!! CORPORATE SHOULD SHUT HIM DOWN.
They diagnosed my car and installed a Crank Sensor and when I left the shop the computer set another code instantly as soon as I reached the 8 miles mark driving away. Had it scanned again and that time is was a Cam Sensor....they damaged the wiring during their testing and wont fix it. Told me to pay more labor time to find the problem.
The manager said no warrany and have to pay more time because this is a new issue....THIS IS NOT A NEW ISSUE BECAUSE IF IT WAS, THE CODE WOULD HAVE SHOWED TWO CODES IN THE COMPUTER NOT THE ONE.
