After giving Premier Martial Arts in Scottsdale and owner David Bravo several opportunities to do what is right, it is with sadness I feel compelled to write this review. I don't want our circumstance to become any one else's if I can help it.
In January of 2015 we paid Premier Martial Arts $896.00 so our son could attend Karate classes for 6-7 months depending on how long it took him to reach two higher belt levels. We drove our son nearly 30 minutes from our home to attend Premier 6 times but were turned away 3 of those times because they were closed and no one let us know. The business hours on the door stated they were supposed to be open but the doors were locked.
We contacted Prmier several times and left many messages asking that our calls be returned and our email added to the email notification system, but no one ever took the time to respond. After not hearing from anyone at Premier for over a week, we enrolled our son in another karate school ( that we love by the way) and requested a refund.
David Bravo of Premier Martial Arts Scottsdale, finally responded when we sent an email request to cancel our sons membership. In his response, he apologized for never taking the time to retun any of our many phone calls and offered us 3 free classes. We informed David that we had already signed up at a new school and only wanted a refund at that point to which he responded no refund would be given.
Keep in mind that we were never notified of a "no refund policy." We were not given a receipt after being promised one would be emailed and even though David Bravo and Premier Martial Arts has a complaint on file with the BBB for this very issue, he still refused to give us a refund.
You should also know that when we signed up for the classes and paid the money, we were told Premier Martial Arts would only be closed on Major Holidays. In the 21 days we attended this school, it was closed 6 times when it should have been open.
After attending another karate school we've also realized how unsanitary Premier Martial Arts is. Their only bathroom was very dirty the 2 times I used it and the entire studio smells like stinky feet most likely because the mats nor the floor have been cleaned in quite some time.
Unfortunately, I would stay clear of this establishment as there are plenty of professional studios in the area that do a much better job running their business.

It was unfortunate that this situation occurred. However, this is a simple case of a customer signing a contract and not wishing to honor it. Premier Martial Arts is only closed on holidays and days that the local school system is closed. This information is communicated to all new families verbally and in writing. I am not responsible for those clients who do not make note of this schedule. This client signed a contract and chose to pay the entire $896 up front, in order to receive a discounted price.
The client was also informed verbally and in writing, that this was a binding contract, and no refunds would be given. She agreed, paid the money, and signed the contract. Later, she found a school closer to her, so she attempted to ridicule me and my business in an attempt to intimidate me into refunding her money. I believe in honoring your word, and I run my business the same. She is the only client in 20 years of doing business that has complained about the bahroom and the smell of the school. That's because my school is clean and sanitary, and her motives are alterior. I am still willing to honor the agreement she made with me and train her child, as agreed, anytime she would like to return.
