I opened up my latest monthly statement and saw (with great surprise and outrage) that I "had" incurred long distance charges to the tune of $1,186.04! My statement showed that on 10-19-04, 70 calls were made to this unknown number (442073358468) in England. I do not know this number or anyone in England, for that matter.

My typical phone bill is between $40 - $50 each month and I use my cell phone for long distance calls.

I immediately contacted both USBI and my phone company SBC by e-mail (since it was a weekend) and told them of my concerns with the false charges.

I received a response back from SBC on Tuesday, telling me that I must contact USBI directly to resolve the issue. They said that until I reach a successful resolution with USBI, they are putting the amount of $1,288.04 in claim on their behalf. If this matter cannot be resolved, then SBC will continue to bill on the behalf of USBI.

I called USBI on 11-30-04 and talked to a Marcus about the charges. He sounded surprised when I told him that 70 calls were made on the same day.

He told me that he would transfer me over to Tellis. I immediately got a busy signal. I called right back and I talked to another rep. When she found out that 70 calls were made on 10-19-04, she put me on hold for about 10 minutes.

She came back to tell me that she was transferring me over to Tellis because Tellis likes to handle their own customer service. After I was transferred, a recording came on telling me to call back during their business hours.

I decided to do a little research online and found your website. After typing in the 12 digit number on my bill (442073358468) I was very interested at what came up!

Looks like others from all over the country are experiencing this nightmare and being scammed. I will be calling my local phone company and asking them to remove these false charges from my bill, tomorrow.

I will also be calling the FCC, the Better Business Bureau, and Wisconsin's Attorney General to report these crimes.
