Jill Stout of Premiere Danes sells "show quality" Great Danes. They are AKC Certified animals.

When we first learned that Jill's dogs were available for sale, we were excited. We own a purebred Great Dane breeding program ourselves, and thought it would be great to collaborate.

To start with, Jill already had a reputation for being unpleasant and underhanded. When we met with her, we were cautious about our approach, making sure that we verified references and cleared the AKC registration. Things seemed great.

We purchased Echo, a blue Great Dane female puppy from Premiere Danes with the hope that we could continue an AKC line of animals. Things were great, at first.

About three months after owning the dog, my wife fell and broke her leg. At the time, I had also suffered from a medical health issue related to my mental health. This put myself and my wife in a position where we were unable to care for the animals.

Jill offered to pick up our dogs and take care of them. This we found to be very kind. She overcharged us for the animal care, but we didn't have any choice, so that was fine, at the moment.

While my wife was in the hospital, enduring a broken leg that required multiple surgeries, and also facing the stress of my condition, Jill continued to contact her, in the hospital, and lectured her about how she believed the dog wasn't safe.

Let me be very clear. We took excellent care of the dog. She was fed on a "free feed" diet of low protein food, which is necessary to reduce growing pains in the large animal's early years.

Echo was also in an AKC training program, in accordance with the contract that we had signed with Jill. She was a very happy, energetic puppy who was treated very well, and was never in danger.

Personally, I suffer from a mental disorder that makes me a danger to myself and ONLY myself. There are several safeties in place to help me maintain my condition. Jill was aware that, as a disabled veteran, I was subject to a personally disabling mental health issue when she sold us the animal. It was agreed that Echo would be in a safe environment.

Following the incident with my wife breaking her leg and myself suffering an episode of my condition, a highly isolated and irregular incident, Jill stated that she "believed the animal was in a dangerous environment."

At no time was the animal in danger. Not only did we find a foster to care for the animal, she personally agreed to "foster" our animals during our crisis.

When it was time to get our animals returned, Jill gave us back our animals, but refused to return Echo. She stated that because she didn't think the dog was in a stable environment, that she would not return the animal.

Jill Stout had a discussion with my wife while my wife was under sedation and pain killers. She convinced my wife that the dog was in an unsafe environment and that she shouldn't have to give a refund ($1,000).

At this point, the issue becomes a civil case. It makes it very easy for Premiere Danes to state that they "believe the animal is in an unsafe environment." Jill Stout of Premiere Danes used her contract to not only keep our dog, but to also keep $1,000 paid for the animal. She disregarded my wife's condition while in the hospital, suffering from a broken leg. She made several accusations to my wife without any foundation for the proof. She badgered and bullied her while my wife was laid up under sedation in the hospital.

If you want to buy a Purebred Blue Great Dane, I highly recommend that you NOT purchase from Premiere Danes. Jill Stout is a spiteful seller who will use your crisis against you to steal your dog and your money.

At this time I am filing a legal suit against Premiere Danes. This is a buyer beware, for sure. Premiere Danes stole my dog and my money.
