Premium Auto Parts Mark Payan and owner who did not give his name (ashamed?) Sold me a burned out pile of scrap for a transmission Salt Lake City Utah

I had my son in law purchase a used 4r70w ford automatic transmission for my Mustang. We intended to rebuild it with new clutch plates and a shift kit and a new torque converter. The pile of scrap metal in an aluminum case that I received was reportedly tested before it was shipped to us.

This tranny came with a 90 day warranty. It was purchased on 7/9/13 and I called Premium Auto Parts on 8/2/13 to report the following:

All the major bushings, Teflon rings, O-rings were either melted fused or otherwise destroyed.

The internal pump had welded itself together from the high heat and even the local transmission shop couldn't get it apart with a rotohammer! Later we got it apart with a 30 ton hydraulic press! Totally destroyed by high heat inside.

I was told I could return it but Im in Idaho with it all apart $565 out of pocket for parts not counting money for a new torque converter which was $345.

Ive already spent $100 to have this junk pile shipped to me and will not pay $100 to ship it back when it obviously wasn't tested before sale.

So the (I assume) owner who was too cowardly to identify himself told me me he'd give me $150 back take it or leave it. I haven't even received that and I figure they owe me for the whole $400. I even had to buy a special tool kit to replace the internal pump seals! The kit is $200 but i got a used one for $85 lucky!

Since this purchase was across state lines on a debit card I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission case number 47365012.

I also filed a,complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Utah reference number: 22151420.

This business has no integrity or regard for its customers. They lie and basically bully people to get their way and your money.

I offered to send them digital pictures of the insides of the transmission and they couldn't care less about me or their reputation. My recommendation....stay away from these ripoffs!
