Title: President Bush proposes to take away overtime benefits to americans in over 200 job categories including nursing, fire fighters and law enforcement.
Please write to urge President Bush to withdraw his proposal that would take away overtime pay from workers. You can do this through the following website if you wish http://www.unionvoice.org/campaign/faxbush4ot
You can also show your support to stop this bill by writing Senator Edward M. Kennedy senator@kennedy.senate.gov and your other elected officials.
Overtime pay is a necessity to working families. Many workers and their families would not be able to pay their bills or have an adequate standard of living without overtime pay.
The overtime pay rules form the basis of the 40-hour week and the weekend.
This overtime protection must stay in place.
Employers could and probably would demand longer and longer work hours from employees.
