I too received this letter offering winnings from some phantom sweepstakes I never entered. I called the number once and it just rang and rang. I was 99.999% sure this is a scam, and now, having read the other reviews I'm positive. What ever you do DON'T DEPOSIT THIS CHECK! I did not, and I have no plans to. I'm sure it is some back handed way to get your checking account info from you in some fashion. I'm having a hard time understanding how this is legal for them to do. It's mostly surprising because the $3500 check looks so legitimate. Normally there's some 1-800 number on it asking you to call for a confirmation# before depositing or some indication that it's not a real check. I wish I could attach a picture for all to see. Anyways, they didn't get me. Hoping they aren't successful with others. I'm guessing the Las Vegas Attorney General would be interested in knowing about this scam originating from their city. Good luck!

Do your own research, but I'm pretty sure this is accurate information/advice if you have received the above mentioned letter. This is an addition to above comments and NOT a rebuttal.
The check one of my relatives received recently is drawn on City National Bank, Walnut Creek, CA (evidently a real bank). It's drawn against the account of Swinerton Inc., San Fran., CA (evidently a real construction company). The REAL Prestige Financial, Inc., Las Vegas, NV is at 3885 S. Decatur Blvd., not 3884 (a typo, or an intentional misleading?)
At any rate, CALL all these people FIRST. DO NOT even bother to call the number (Atlanta, GA) that is listed in their letter saying you have won the $50k.
Here's how it will go if you call them. They will direct you to deposit the check they sent you, and then immediately turn around and "pay" the fees with some kind of direct payment (probably a wire transfer) to THEIR account. Boom, they have you! If you tell them you will pay their fees AFTER their check clears, they will come up with some kind of excuse that it's "time sensitive"!
DO NOT fall for it! You will be in a world of hurt if you try to deposit a check which was drated by fraud. Be smart. Call the bank, call Swinerton, call the REAL Prestige Financial (all can be looked up online) if you don't believe me. Hope this helps someone not get ripped off, and hopefully the crooks will soon be behind bars!!!!
