We purchased two cars from Karl Malone Toyota in Albuquerque at the same time. Two different finance companies were used, one of which was Prestige Financial.
Ive had multiple car loans over the last twenty years and (ignorantly) only concerned myself with the interest rate, which was okay in comparison to other used car interest rates.
The first call from Prestige occurred several days BEFORE the first payment was due. I was more than a little bit shocked by the call, but gave them the benefit of the doubt in assuming that they were verifying the accuracy of the payment information.
Giving them the benefit of the doubt was a mistake. This companys policy, as expressed by the representative that is calling me (each loan has an individual assigned agent) follows:
1. There is no grace period your payment is absolutely due on the due date and they will begin calling whomever is listed on the loan multiple times beginning on the due date.
2. The 10 days listed on the loan reflects the application of a late fee, it is not a grace period.
3. After 3 days, they are instructed to begin contacting your references regarding your failure to pay on the due date.
If you finance through this company you can expect a level of harassment youve probably never experienced unless you were 30, 60 or 90 days late on a payment.
In regard to the person that posted just pay your payment on-time. I understand what youre saying; however, paying on the exact date isnt always that easy and NO other company Ive ever had credit with has behaved in this way. If you live paycheck to paycheck like 65% of America, your payment due date may fall on a Monday and you get paid on Friday. If thats the case for you, they will call you on Monday, 3-4 times on Tuesday, at least 4 times on Wednesday and then they will start calling your references and likely threatening to repossess your car on Thursday. All of this despite the fact that you have every intention of paying them on Friday and you have every intention of honoring your payment contract.
Given all of the other complaints on this site regarding this company, this is obviously something that is working for them from a financial stand-point.
My primary issue with this loan is that the car dealership, Karl Malone Toyota of Albuquerque, had to know that Prestige engages in these practices and gave us NO forewarning that the loan through Prestige would be administered in this way.
Larry H. Miller operates in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Maryland, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wyoming.
DO NOT use Prestige Financial to finance your car. If it is the only way you can finance a car at a particular dealership dont buy the car and go to another dealership. It is NOT WORTH IT and there are multiple finance companies that will finance you if you have credit issues that do not engage in this type of predatory, hostile, collection harassment as soon as the payment is due.
I will go out of my way to avoid companies affiliated with Larry H. Miller group in the future and will warn everyone I know that is looking for a car to avoid them as well. We are definitely going to refinance, even if it results in a higher interest rate.
One word best sums up my opinion of this companys business practices yuck!

The TRUTH cannot be denied! Open up your eyes Americans!

After my experience with LHM, that I have posted here. I had to retain a lawyer to get them to keep their deal. I also contactd the media, TV and radio, they wouldn't touch it. LHM pays their bills by way of advertising. I contact "get gephardt" which is the local investigative reporter and was told that I need to exhaust all other measures before they would get involved. I had already done everything that I could at that point on my own so I then got a lawyer. I now research EVERYTHING I want to buy on the internet. And I DO NOT go to ANYTHING owned by LHM. People here think that since he is a good church going guy that he couldn't possibly approve or know of the way his companies are being ran. I think they are VERY naive. Anyone smart enough to build such a business empire, is not stupid enough to ignore how it is being ran.

Expose The Problem

Remember, EXPOSURE is a Car Dealership's worst fear! You can place a small display ad in your local Newspaper that says this: GO TO ripoffreport.com and type in TOYOTA. Read all the Posts!!
It's that simple. This small ad will cost the Dealership THOUSANDS of dollars in sales and will alert the public to the problem. It will also get others who do not know about this website to Post their complaints about Toyota also! And , your Local News Stations will start coming to this website too!!!
In a few years, people will be BOMBARDING this website with complaints about TOYOTA and their way of doing business and when Toyota's stock keeps falling, maybe they (Jim Press & Mr. Watanabe) will finally do something!!!
Too bad Arnold Ziffel isn't around. Imagine how good it would be if he were Toyota's CEO!!! (Arnold was the pig in the T.V. Show- 'Green Acres').

You must inform ALL news Stations in your city about Larry Miller Toyota ( Karl Malone Toyota) and be sure to send ALL INFO TO: 9 News 500 Speer Blvd. Denver, Co 80203 Attn: Deborah Sherman. Also send info to Dateline NBC 30 Rockefeller Plaza New York, NY 10112 Attn: Investigative Reporter. 60 Minutes 555 West 57th Street New York, NY 10019 Attn: Investigative Reporter. Fox 31 News 100 East Speer Blvd. Denver, Co 80203 Attn: Tom Martino/ Geraldo Rivera.
Also contact the Bank where your OTHER vehicle is Financed and get copies of ALL loan paperwork! There is a chance that your CREDIT APPLICATION was altered( look at INCOME and YEARS ON THE JOB). Also check your SIGNATURE and make sure it is yours.) Make sure to get a copy of the INVOICE if it is a New Car. If it is a USED CAR get a copy of the USED CAR SHEET which must be part of the loan paperwork. The Dealers like to include OPTIONS on the car that you do not have so the loan goes through. If the sheet says your car has a sunroof, cruise control, alloy wheels, leather, etc. and it doesn't, then the Bank was TRICKED! You can sue and you WILL win! If they TRICKED the Bank, make sure to Post it so consumers are Updated!
You see, Auto Dealers are great at TRICKING customers. But few people know the TRUTH about how these Dealers TRICK the Banks also!! The Banks do not like to be TRICKED! Make sure to take action and get the documents from the Bank ASAP!!
'Write a letter, you'll feel better!'
P.S. Go to www.9news.com and type in the name ORNELAS and search the story from 2005 that made the Front Page of the Denver Post and WATCH the Video too! Good luck, you might get lucky and catch them. And that is a CRIME.(altering legal documents).
