I bought a round-trip flight through Priceline.com with travel insurance through The Berkely Group in Feb 2011. My was travel was out of state for National Guard training, however the dates of the training were changed a few weeks after my purchase.
I filed the the claim through The Berkely Group, and sent them the supporting official documentation of the training date changes. They replied via mail several weeks later that they do not cover military changes in schedule.
I ended up eating the the expensive flight charges and had to buy a additional round trip ticket, not to mention I was not reimbursed the $18 dollars I spent on the flight insurance.
Consequently I do not recommend the travel insurance through priceline.com with The Berkely Group.

How It Works

The government pays you X amount of dollars to get from point A to point B. They pay you by the mile and per diem. At least it was in the old days. They don't care how you get there as long as you're at the appointed place at the appointed time. I'd take the POV, collect the mileage, the per diem, drive 19 hours per day, stay at $3 motels, eat sandwiches and pocket the difference. You took a gamble, bought a non-refundable ticket to save yourself some money, didn't check their policy on change of orders and lost. Thanks for bringing it up to warn others.
