This company is a major scam. Do not give them a single dime. Once someone adds their profile to the database, that person is never removed... ever, even if you write them, call them, plead with them. So none of the people on prideroommates.com are looking for roommates.
I think the testimonials are made up, because I tried their services, and spent a lot of time sending emails to every single freakin' person, and in 3 months, I only got one single response, and that was to say they are not interested.
Now that I am on their profile database, I get constant emails from them. I log back in, and try to unsubscribe. But the emails just keep coming. The emails are from the same people that were "looking" at my profile 3 years ago. So obviously, these are just email bots sending fake emails. When it says people are looking at your profile, and trying to get your info, that is a lie. I paid them for three months, and got zero true leads/people/roommates out of the experience.
It was horrible, the worst customer service, a downright scam, and a waste of my money. Please ask anyone who got scammed by them to post on here, so the word gets out.
If you had a bad experience with prideroommates.com, please post your complaint on here. If three people complain, then we can file a class action lawsuit against them, and recuperate our lost time and money. Thanks for listening, and please post a link to this on your blogs and myspace. It's important that we protect each other in this community.

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company
PrideRoommates.com has been serving the gay community since 2003.
AUTHOR: Prideroommates - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Sunday, September 23, 2007
This is in response to a post by Mark from Dallas.
Dear Mark,
I'm sorry that you were unable to find a roommate through our service but I can assure you and everyone else that PrideRoommates is most certainly not a scam. We have been serving the gay community since 2003. Please allow me to address each of your points:
You began your complaint by stating that beacause you received only one response from a member who told you they were not interested then no one on the site was looking for roommates. I'm sorry but PrideRoommates cannot control if members choose not to respond to you or respond that they are not interested. Thousands of gay members have found roommates through our service for over 4 years.
To confirm that we do indeed have active members in the Dallas, Texas area which I assume is your location, I checked our database and as of September 23, 2007 at 6pm, there are 62 members looking for rooms and 26 members listing their apartments/rooms who have logged in within the last 30 days.
I have not had one complaint from any of them.
You then state in your post that we must be sending out emails from fake members who were looking at your profile. This is absolutely not true. The
only time you receive emails from PrideRoommates are when real-time actions take place such as when a member views your profile, emails you, sends you an
instant message, adds you as a favorite or takes notes about you. This is in order to alert you that someone might be interested in your room or you as a
roommate. You can easily opt-out of any of these by logging in and clicking 'email notification' and then simply unchecking them. This notice is actually displayed in every email you receive. Here is an example:

If you received poor customer service than I apologize for that but we normally get high marks in that area from our other members.
You mentioned that you paid for 3 months. Our membership is a monthly subscription which can be cancelled anytime. Therefore, I'm not clear on why
you continued your membership for 3 months if you were not satisfied or suspected a scam.
Most importantly, you mentioned in your post that we need to protect each other in this community. I completely agree and I find it very disappointing that you would attack a resource for the community like PrideRoommates and accuse us of being a scam. My mother and her partner are gay so that comment is
especially hurtful.
In any case, since I cannot contact you through this forum and don't know who you are, you can contact me personally at partners@prideroommates.com. Please
put Attn: Adam - PrideRoommates in your subject line. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you,
Adam
