*UPDATE Ripoff Report REVIEW:

EDitor's Comment: Primerica gets a POSITIVE RATING in customer support from Rip-off Report and is fulfilling its commitment to provide excellent customer service. Primerica pledges to resolve complaints and address representative issues. For a long time this EDitor had concerns about Primerica because of the number of Reports about them. For many months Rip-off Report was looking into the company, even before they contacted us to resolve any issues and mostly misunderstandings being posted by competitors. With over 100,000 representatives and 6 million clients, Primerica is bound to be the subject of a certain number of complaints about improper agent conduct, as well as product and administrative complaints.

Rip-Off's investigation found such complaints, but importantly also found that Primerica is committed to resolving such complaints quickly and doing everything possible to satisfy its clients. It also takes appropriate action against any of its representatives who are found to have conducted themselves improperly or unethically. We believe that the number of complaints against this company, whether through the Internet or other channels, is small when put into the context of its enormous size. Most big companies would never commit themselves like Primerica has. Read our investigative Report and Primerica's commitment to 100% consumer satisfaction.

www.primerica.com provides products and services through independent representatives. Primerica www.primerica.com has more than 100,000 licensed representatives who serve more than 6 million clients in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, Spain and the United Kingdom. Through a Financial Needs Analysis www.primericafna.com, the company's representatives provide a snapshot of a family's financial picture and suggest a strategy for financial security via Primerica's products and services www.primericafinancialsolutions.com. ===================== THE ORIGINAL REPORT THAT WAS FILED IS BELOW=====================
Primerica Financial Services MLM AMWAY BRAINWASHING SCAM, PRIMERICA IS LIKE A CULT dishonest ripoffs screwed others too ripoff Edmonton Alberta

I recently had the displeasure of joining Primerica Financial Services. This is a SCARY company. I always have thought of myself as a very strong minded person but within weeks Primerica had a hold of me. My friends and family could see me changing right before their eyes and tried to pull me away from Primerica.

But the brainwashing they subject you to at Primerica actually makes anyone that is against Primerica "Not worth having in your life" the other thing it makes you think is "Anyone who is not in Primerica is just being stupid and will never amount to anything, they are just losers" So let me walk you through step by step how Primerica is from someone who broke free from the brainwashing and can see the scam for what it is.

Even after I broke free from the brainwashing I tried to show other agents I cared about the truth but they were too far gone to see the truth. Like I said, it's scary. Alright here's the true story behind Primerica.

I recieved a phone call "Hello my name is _________ I am a manager in charge of expansion for Primerica Financial Services. If the money and situation were right would you consider a career change?" We talked for a bit and he told me about how Citigroup is the largest company in the world and this would be the opportunity to make six figures a year. He gave me the Citigroup website and said that there was a link to the Primerica site in the Citigroup site.

I was invited to a "Business Overview" (also known as an "Op Night") they had a whole razzle dazzle show that said that Primerica was Canada's Best Business. They had a video presentation set up to look like a news report and a bunch of speakers that gave the "rah rah" Primerica changed my life....ooooohhh aaaaahhh look at me I'm a millionaire and you can be one too. I was sold, I wanted to be a millionaire just like the guy that was doing the presentaion (who's BWM was parked just feet from the front door so everyone could see it).

So Step two - I signed my IBA (Independant Business Aplication) with 199.00 to "start my business" and sumbit my paperwork. (Here is a funny story - My first day on the job I was a "Manager In Charge Of Expansion" and going through the white pages for phone numbers and just clod calling EVERYONE one by one) I was trained for less than 1 hour a week for 6 weeks (total less than 6 hours) then I was given my "diploma" for my six week training. During my training I was also given the opportunity to become a "Master Copy" to become a master copy you have to jump through a bunch of hoops and BUY PRIMERICA LIFE INSURANCE AND MUTUAL FUNDS.

They pressured you with the "You can't ba a master copy if your plan is not in place" and "you can't sell products if you don't own them and believe in them". The one that makes me laugh now is "You don't see a Chevy salesman driving a Ford" heh heh man what planet do they live on. I have met 4 car salesmen in the last few weeks and ONE of them drive the product they sell.

3 times a week Primericans would meet and have a "Rah Rah" sesion. Everyone clapped and cheered and gave each other high fives. The energy in the room was amazing. No matter how little the thing you did was you got applause, high fives, and recognition. You felt powerful like anyone not a part of Primerica was missing out and will never acomplish anything with their lives. We were on a "Crusade" to save everyone from their crappy lives and give them the opportunity to be "Debt free and on the road to financialy freedom".

These meetings were basicly brainwashing tools to strenthen your bonds with Primerica. And I'll be honest with you they were the most effective tool they use. Free trips to tropical and beautiful locations, a lifestyle of your dreams, and being a millionarie were dangeled in front of you at each and every one of these meetings. It made you work harder for your upline who takes commissions off of you (Called an "Override") for giving you this opportunity.

So At this point I'm out $199.00 + Monthly Insurance Premiums + Mutual Funds. Now for the final step of becoming the "master copy" I have to give my "Upline" a copy of my "Top 25" people in my warm market. I give the list to my upline and it mysteriously disappears (funny thing everone on the list got a phone call from a Primerica rep after I left the company...hmmmmmm). Here is how it works you "recruit" people into Primerica with hopes and dreams of Being a millionaire then get a list of their friends and family to go visit while you are "Field Training" (this is the process where you are unlicenced and the upline takes ALL THE COMMISSIONS from your friends and family while you get nothing).

Here is an interesting thing a $100.00 from the $199.00 was supposed to be returned to me when I went on 3 "Training Appointments". After my third appointment I was told "two of the three appointments did not produce sales so you get nothing" So basicly you recruit people to get their top 25 list and "Rape" their warm market of friends and family. All the recruit is there to do is push your way into their friends and families house.

So I decided to stick with it (I'm still brainwashed here) and I studied for my Life Insurance License and my Mutual Funds License. OK here comes more cash out of the pocket.

60 bucks for the Life Book and 160 bucks for the Mutual Funds Book. So now I'm down $199 + Life insurance premiums + Mutual funds + $60 for the Life book + $25 for the life exam + $60 for the Life license + $160 for the mutual funds course

At this point a good friend of mine that I had been treating like crap because "He spoke badly about Primerica" opened my eyes once and for all. In a slightly violent exchange he knocked it into my head that I had been brainwashed. The seed was planted. I thought he was a total loser for not just signing up and becoming "Financialy Independant" and how dare he get physical with me..."ha when I'm a Millionaire I'll buy and sell guys like him" I thought to myself.

As I drove home the seed of doubt began to grow, I called my friend and said "where's your proof?" He gave me a list of websites and articles. Boom! As I read all the articles and all the people that had been hurt by this company I felt horid about the way I had been acting and treating the people I loved.

It's a scary feeling, knowing that you were brainwashed. Knowing that someone else had contol over your thoughts and feelings. But once you see past the brainwashing you see things as they really are.

The turnover rate (people that quit) is unreal (my turnover rate was around 100% for a while). But you know "some people are just not cut out for this business, they will just always be losers never getting anywhere in their J-O-B" I can't believe I bought into this crap.

I am sharing this experience with people hoping that someone will stumble upon this report and say "Wow I'm glad I saw this before I signed my IBA". I know this is a long story but I only scratched the surface I could write for DAYS about all the things that go on behind the closed doors of Primerica. Here is a point form of how it works.

- Phone People out of the phone book - Recruit them - "Rape" their warm market ("It's OK they will recriut someone and do the same thing so it's not wrong"...this is what my upline actually said to me) - Once they are dried up recruit another person and "rape" their warm market - Keep going until you have recruited enough people and you and your recruits have "raped" enough warm markets that you can open your own "Base Shop" and become a Regional Vice President (RVP) at which your upline takes your strongest people as a gift for giving you the opportunity in the business.

They cycle continues on and on and new "Base shops" spring up all over town as more people become RVPs.

I know a Primerican will try to come up with a clever rebutal on how this was all my fault and Primerica is the greatest company on the planet but keep in mind I was the person that would have been writing that rebutal if I had not had help to break free from the brainwashing.

Thank you for your time and I hope this saves you some time and money that I will never get back.

Randy Edmonton, Alberta

be coachable!

AUTHOR: Elisabeth - (Canada)

POSTED: Monday, September 25, 2006

Another Crimerica war cry:

Be coachable!

Equals (=) let me control you, your mind, your time, your lives, your souls. Some of the very things that they accuse people of who have the decency to work at real, HONEST, J-O-B's!!!

I encourage everyone to play along with their game just long enough to waste as much of their time as YOU want, then tell them - no. No! No!

Crimerica embarassed further by Denis (Kaukauna)

AUTHOR: Stuart - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 19, 2006

What you have spouted out of your mouth is incredible nonsense:

"Our office has 3 hours of training each day and regularly scheduled training outside of that." Those three hours a days translate into 15 to 21 hours a week depending. Add on regularly scheduled training and we're talking 30 to 40 hours a week spent on training alone.

"I also carry seven state licenses in more than one state that I worked very hard for." What's the matter, don't get enough business in Wisconsin? You have enough time to traipse around in your beaten-down car in seven states in addition to your training? What happened to working part-time as 90% of the agents do as pointed out on Crimerica's metamorphosis website?

Why should any visitors to this website believe you? (to the fat cats: this is the best you can send over? Denis brought further shame to Crimerica).

You need a refresher course Denis (free of charge). Now pay close attention and carve this into your brain:

"Victim of a consumer Rip-off? Want justice? Rip-off Report is a worldwide consumer reporting Website & Publication, by consumers, for consumers, to file & document complaints about companies or individuals who ripoff consumers."

Just did an online search

AUTHOR: Leroy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 19, 2006

I just did an online search of CPAs in kaukauna-appleton area. None listed primerica as an affiliation. After that I didn't bother doing the same with CFPs. Maybe there is something wrong with the search engine. Maybe they were too busy with three hours of training sessions a day to be put in any directories.

I said companies charge a fee for their planning process. You are correct a commission or a yearly management fee is all that is legal on an investment itself. There are 3 CFP's and 3 CPA's working out of this office.

AUTHOR: Leroy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 19, 2006

Primerica is a wholly owned subsidiary of Citigroup. As such it is insulated from any consequences of any wrongdoings primerica may possibly do. Because of this status of being a wholly owned subsidiary Citigroup has absolutely no legal obligations whatsoever to primerica policyholders should primerica run into financial problems down the road.

Citigroup itself paid out $2 BILLION in regulatory fines and class action settlements for its role in some well publicized national financial scandals. The company that primericans claim is out to help the middle class helped 1000s of middle class Enron employees enjoy a penniless retirement.

Your office may have 3 hours of training a day in non-sales related areas, (which is impossible for me to believe ANY sales organization would take away this much time from sales and customer service) but its obvious by the factual mistakes other primerica reps make when they come to this board that the other offices don't do any real training at all other than how to perform the canned primerica sales pitch.

What % of Certified Life Underwriters and Certified Financial Planners does your office have? That tells the real tale about what kind of training goes on. I'll bet its real close to 0% like it is in all other primerica offices. Several agencies of well-known companies in this town and the neighboring larger town have close to 100% among reps who have at least 3 years in the biz.

The last I heard a client can either be charged a commission on individual transactions or they can pay a yearly management fee on the entire account. THEY CAN"T BE CHARGED BOTH as you claim the competition does!!!!!! If you're a primerica vet with experience and you don't know this its pretty obvious either you must be sleeping during those 3 hour daily "training sessions" or your RVP lied to you and you didn't have the technical knowledge or the intellectual curiosity to find out for yourself.

How long were you a rep? You need to update your own info and "claims". Our office has 3 hours of training each day and regularly scheduled training outside of that. Very little of this has anything to do with sales. I also carry seven state licenses in more than one state that I worked very hard for. I feel bad for you and whatever experience you had.

A little reediting:

"CitiGroup is the largest [crookedest] financial services company in the world..." based on helping to perpetrate a fraud through its involvement with Enron and Worldcom plus being fined heavily by the government for predatory lending to the poor.

"All representatives in the US...most are heavily trained." By who? How are they trained and what do they learn besides how to be a salesperson?

"Cause all financial services companies that I know...charge planning fees on top of the comission." Since when? (that Crimerica playbook needs serious updating).

AUTHOR: Denis - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 18, 2006

I am sitting in my office totally amused by some of the people on this site. CitiGroup is the largest financial services company in the world with over 1.4 trillion dolars in assests. Primerica is CitiGroups main marketing arm. Do you really think a company of this magnitude would rely on false claims to sell their products? CitiGroup has also been rated number one on the Forbes Global 2000 for 6 years in a row, including 2000-2006.

It is unfortunate that there some bad "eggs" in every company. I assure you the company in general is not anything like this. I left a 40,000 a year J-O-B to work with Primerica and I am doing quite well. Insurance and Financial Services are heavily regulated in the US at least. I don't know much about Canada. All representatives in the US are licenses and most are heavily trained.

As far as not investing money with someone that is commissioned. Where do you live? Cause all financial services companies that I know of are not only commissioned, but also charge planning fees on top of the comission. Please do not listen to this "stuff", not the word I would like to use. If you are considering a position with the company.

POSTED: Saturday, July 15, 2006

I want to thank all the people that are posting bulletins on how primerica rips off people. i went to their "introduction" where they brainwashed 30 people into thinking we would have an actual job. All they wanted was interested employees and their families financial information so they can set it up with their accounts to make money. They dont care if you have sales skills they just want phone numbers of your family and friends so they can destroy your relationship with them. During the "introduction interview" I stood up and tried walking out. the recruiter brainwasher asked me what i was doing i told him and all the other interested employees it was bullshit. He threatened to call the cops and i told him he should so they could arrest him for ripping off people. he never did. Any one that sticks up for primeriscam is an employee that is recruiting more people for their bullshit. I wish somebody would take this company down. The revolution will NOT be televized.

You are listening to people that know nothing about this company

AUTHOR: Tom - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, July 13, 2006

If you want the truth about Primerica, research real sites such as A.M Best, Fitch, Standard and Poors, Moodys, Better Business Bureau, NASD, the SEC, publications about Citigroup and Primerica. Anyone can write their bad experience about a company. I could write bad things about every company on this planet all day long and people that believe anything they read will only see this site and make the wrong conclusion. Research the right companies and websites, not these websites of negativity.

Look up God or the U.S.A. and you will find people that hate both. Just because someone hates either one, are you going to not believe in God or hate the U.S.A. No, you are not. Research the proper websites. Not this site that complains about every company, country, person on this planet.

This site is very misleading to people because anyone could write whatever they want and it is usually all bad. People that have not looked up the websites with the true facts and figures of a company will miss out on a good company. This is because a few people had a bad experience because they didn't have the heart to try to build a business with Primerica or they didn't work hard to make it work (LAZY) or they listened to someone that knows less than them.

I came across this site by accident and now feel many people are being misled by these poor people that say they had a bad experience. Just remember, this site complains about everthing in the world, so you could be on here too if someone doesn't like you. Think for yourself and research the proper websites, publications and whatever places that give the truth and the facts.

I am a recent college grad with a teaching degree and I receive at least a couple of Primerica calls a month. When it first happened I googled them and was led here. Now when they call informing me of a "position in my field" I ask if they are a high school, and if not, then its not in my field.

But when it really comes down to it, any personal finance book, financial planner, suze orman, the motley fool, etc will tell you not to use someone who receives a comission as a financial advisor. If they're trying to sell a product then their advice may not be in your best interest.

So, even if you ignore the MLM its just not a smart way to handle your money.

Understanding Brainwashing

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 10, 2006

If this guy was really brainwashed, it would have taken more than a slap on the face from a friend. What really happened is for the first time in your life, you were excited about something and that is what your friends and family saw. And, to think that a "friend" would take that from you is really no friend at all. He should have been happy for your happiness and success (if you had any).

If you read any books on success, one of the first things you will pick up is that you have to be around people who are successful and have the same goals as you do. If someone was complaining because you were going to training and recruiting meetings and not hanging around getting drunk with your friends, then I'm sorry for you not to be able to see that some of your friends and family wanted to keep you the same person who doesn't seek self-improvement. But, to blame a company or people in the company that you were no longer a drunken bum going nowhere and got steered away from straightening your life out is just childish!

Rebutting Crimerican

AUTHOR: Stuart - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, July 09, 2006

Point by point:

"...the company those give you the [none of the] tools and [lack of] power to succeed..." The term insurance policy from Crimerica in general can't be used for retirement purposes because it expires way before people reach the age of 80. Furthermore Crimerica admits that its term insurance policy is extremely expensive compared to its competitors.

"...its true there are some bad seeds with in the company." Plenty of bad seeds, just check Ripoff Report and other websites. Furthermore this doesn't excuse Crimerica's responsibility as its agents are a captive market (not permitted to work for insurance competitors).

"Recruiting..." = MLM = pyramid scheme at Crimerica.

"...maybe you dint take advantege of the oportunity." What opportunity? (none exists - btw

you misspelled didn't and opportunity).

"You should of gone around your upline..." That's right and the only way to accomplish this is to go

with a different insurance company (btw proper grammar uses should have, not should of).

"The company is good..." LOL, only a shiller would

come running to Ripoff Report and say this.

"So I ask you unmask them not ________..." I ask all victims of Crimerica to post here and wherever

else you can as you're letting the world know what

kind of fakeroo company Crimerica is.

i feel sorry for u there are dishonest people out there.

AUTHOR: Don - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, July 09, 2006

Hey from what I hear your upline was looking for a quick buck. I can say im a primerica agent with pride because the company those give you the tools and power to succeed, and its true there are some bad seeds with in the company. Lucky for me I have a great upline and great RVP theyre very humble people.

I personaly know there families and they know mine and I use pride strongly because when I sit down with a family I work for them in their best interest. If dont know how to answer one of their question I tell them I dont know. I write it down and i get back to them asap.

A lot of the new reps they mess up. They think they know everything and mess it up for the rest of us that are doing the right thing. I personally wasn't presure to get any of our products at the begining. I am a life client because I saw the need for it.

Recruiting I think is the greatest thing because that opens doors into building a legacy that you can pass down to your family and its true you can't succeed with out helping others succeed.

I dont' know dude maybe its not your time or maybe you dint take advantege of the oportunity. You should of gone around your upline, learn the process and work it the right way and train your down lines the same right way.

The company is good, some of the products are excellent. It's just some people are naturally scum. I say go back there take the business oportunity and you build right the randy baseshop way. Also I do know that every single rvp have different guide lines so maybe you should be reporting the person not the company. And I'm not here to attack you or any body that had problems whith primerica but if you really look and research, primerica products have saved some lifes literally c/s like I said it's not primerica, it's some of the people that dont do it right.

So I ask you unmask them not primerica or unless maybe your just another company trying to get primerica a bad name because they are really doing the right think. Hey that's true why don't you report the people. When I do business I hand them out a paper indicating that if I was by any reson a misconduct they can report me to the bureau c/s and have me taken out instead of coming here and bad mouthing something else

Thank you so much, I am sorry that it happened to you!

AUTHOR: Vanessa - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 05, 2006

My name is Vanessa and I live in Bloomington-Normal IL. Just this last week I was contacted by a man named Jake who works for Primerica. He told me that my name "came across his desk." He wanted to know if I was keeping my career options open. I told him yes, I was most definatly looking for a job. He set me up for a "corporate meeting" for this Saturday at 8:30.

I decided that it would be in my best interest to come home and research this company. I googled the name and I came across this site. I don't know how to express my severe disappointment. I was very upset when I found out the true ins and outs of this "wonderful career opportunity." I am also embarrassed that I got suckered into this mans lies and his deceit.

I called him back and told him that Primerica wasn't for me. I read all about the companies ethics from others who have been past employee's. I can't thank you guys enough, I'm just sorry that it happened to you. I'm glad that I was informed before I made a grave mistake.

Close call. Very close! just came from a rah rah meeting

AUTHOR: Jim - (Canada)

POSTED: Thursday, August 25, 2005

I'm very thankfull for the letters of each of the people I've read on this matter. I just came from a rah rah meeting. I felt a little uneasy about howe they didn't want to talk about how they do their business. There was a lot of "Look at the crap load of money you can make!" of "You can start taking free trips almost right away!" or "You get all this free stuff!" I sat for an hour and a half and never learned how they prospect, what their "proven systems" are, or how I can laearn more about the company. They never even promoted their own website in their RECRUITING MEETING!!! I mast say that they definitely use the right technique to get you hyped. Fortunately, I could see to many holes in their presentation and wasn't totally on board. I'm so glad this website is here! One of the guys made a few good points that I wrote down, but I noticed what all the other letters have noted: You are pretty much a loser if you don't get on board. I have been doing my homework and did find there asre some good MLM networks out there. I joined one. This is not one of them. Thanks again, all of you, for helping me find the truth!

My Experience. thank god for the internet and found this site.

AUTHOR: Lucas - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, April 29, 2005

My Name is Luke Barton I have a steady "JOB" working for Verizon in house IT support. My Fianc works as a server and that job really does a number on her so she has been pursuing a better line of employment.

Recently she received a call from a Rep of City Group about the "opportunity of a life time" I myself fell for a similar scam for a company called CidCore, so I was so scared for her that she might be sucked into this brain washing scheme with their promises of financial success and big money.

These things appeal to most people especially people fed up with there current job or way of life. I knew that this offer could be too tasty for her to refuse and because of my past experience with similar companies, (if they even deserve that title) I knew the whole thing was a bunch of propa-f**king-ganda (to quote a good friend of mine).

So last night she went to their seminar with a good friend of ours who has already been swayed into their warped little cult. I tried to warn them but to no avail my advice went untaken.

The promise of riches beyond my Fiancs wildest dreams, and the hope of better providing for our friends daughter blocked out anything I had to say. I was so worried that my Fianc would be lured away, have her money striped from her and see her push away her friends and family. I was really worried she would resent me for not doing it as well and eventually push me away too.

After she got home all she could say was "it's awesome" I lost it !, after a heated argument I said FINE!! You will see for yourself eventually!! And I retired to bed. I guess something in said sunk in because she decided to research it (thank god for the internet) and found this site. Thanks to you she was spared much frustration and disappointment. Now our only Task is opening our good friend's eyes to the truth about this Rapist of hopes and dreams. Thanks for posting this site. I love her more than anything and am glad she will be ok.

Brainwashing ?????

AUTHOR: John - (Canada)

POSTED: Saturday, October 11, 2003

First of all, I had to reply as an "employee" of this company, I am not. I am an independant contractor with PFS. I have worked WITH them for 6 years now, I have also worked FOR other companies before, notice the difference in my words. I was "controled" by the companies I worked FOR. They told me how much I was allowed to make, when to be at work, when to be at home, etc etc, and if I didn't work the extra hours for them, I had problems, WE ALL know what it is like. NOW, with PFS, I get to take my son to school, I can take him out for lunch when I WANT TO, I can be home with him if he is sick, WITHOUT ASKING PERMISSION ! For me, it is the freedom to not be told what to do all the time. Brainwashing, well, all I can say is that, IF you don't do your homework when looking at a CAREER, then YOUR ignorance is your own fault. My income is just what it was when working FOR the others, but I spend LESS time working, and more time with my family, isn't that what it is all about, QUALITY time ? I get to go on school trips with him, did the same with my daughter as well, usually I WAS the only father. The rest were stay at home moms.....was it that the other fathers didn't care? NO, they would have to ask permission to be with their child. A sad state of affairs if you ask me. I will give all you NEY sayers a challenge, DON"T go to work for the next week, don't ask permission, don't call in, don't tell your employer anything, LETS see who has a career at the end of the week. I KNOW that I will. If it isn't for you, then don't do it, do what is best for you, I would be a crappy mechanic, so I DON'T do it. I do feel bad about others being "taken" by unethical people, in PFS or anywhere else. I hope you find what YOU are happy with, and let us go on with our lives. OH, by the way, I have not recruited anyone into the business, I make my money on my own, and have satisfied clients. Strangely enough, when I was a manager of other places, I HAD to hire people all the time, because a bunch would quit. Hmmm, sounds sort of like Primerica. That is my 2 cents worth.

It's your life

AUTHOR: Jeremiah - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 07, 2003

I have been with Primerica for Just about a year working part time and it is true that I haven't made alot of money, But the extra income that I have made has made all the difference in my situation. I am dedicated to truly developing people and training them, not just tossing them in the deep end and hoping they can swim.

The only advice that I can give is don't start working unless you have enough self dicipline to see it through. I was horrible when I first started but made a desicion to educate myself about the financial industry. I am now able to help families make good financial desicions.

The purpose of going out with a new associate to see their friends and family is to teach them how to do it on thier own. Not every office is run by unethical people, some offices are truly interested in teaching you how to develope your own buisness.

There have been countless books and stories on the Good things Primerica has done ie. The ABC's of making money, What every mutual fund and stock investor should know, Habitat for humanity

So there is a place for everyone, some people are driven to work and develope others and help families, and other people are happy to go to their job and provide for their family. All you can do is find what makes you happy and when you do I wish you the best of luck.

Stopped in time, Thank You Randy from Edmonton, Alberta !!!!

AUTHOR: Carmen - (Canada)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 04, 2003

I have been looking for a new job for the last 6-8 months. Last week I received a called from this " Citigroup " rep. telling me that she founds my resume on a " resume databank " and she would like to talk to me. I went for a interview and for their " orientation " meeting. I was very excited about this " Primerica / Citigroup new career possibility.

I filled out my IBA, gave them my check for $ 199 on the Saturday afternon. Over the weekend I did my homework and read more on it on the web.

( comments / complaints ). In my opinion it is a " Brain Washing process ". The RVP with the big fat Ring was there telling us his story etc...

After reading specially Randy's story from Edmonton Alberta, I realized that the same had just happened to me. I called them back up on the Monday and told them to stop my pplication.

They told me your application has been sent already, I said try to cash the check if you want but I already put a " Stop Payment " on it this afternoon Ha ! Ha ! This is what I call financially smart !!

We paid $ 225.00 for a " personal financial adviser " last summer and HE did make a difference in our life, I personally don't think that Primerica could.

Thanks, be aware !!

Primerica is MLM ..do some of their own research first. Don't believe the hype.

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 22, 2003

My decision not to become involved with Primerica was based mainly on the deception that I experienced. I became aware of the deception only after doing some research. This site was very helpful. I encourage anyone considering a $199.00 "opportunity" with Primerica to do some of their own research first. Don't believe the hype. I wouldn't say that I was flat-out lied to. However, I was definately deceived. I asked the rep (more than once) if Primerica fit a standard MLM structure. I received no straight answers. I was told how it wasn't like Amway. This was after I started discussing my previous experiences with MLM. It was implied that Primerica wasn't MLM. If you have any question concerning the marketing structure of Primerica, then visit this page: http://www.mlmreview.com/mlmreview/pfs2036.html I guess if I wanted to be involved in MLM, then I might go with Primerica. I just don't like motivating people with half-truths. I've been involved with both NSA and Quixtar. I don't enjoy exploiting "warm" markets. I like keeping my friends.

#5 UPDATE EX-employee responds

You guys are crazy .. Avoid the hype at Primerica, but look at their principles.

AUTHOR: Brad - (Canada)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 05, 2003

You guys must just be lazy. How could you not have made millions in Primerica. After all, now you have to work forever at a J-O-B, while my business can work for me while I sit on a beach, cashing my great big cheques. If you don't succeed, it's your fault, if you do everything they ask of you or not. Pathetic.

Of course, I bought into the same crap from February, 1992, until March, 2001. I was told by one of the speakers on the Monday Morning Broadcast (rah-rah session 1 for the week), that if we could show him one person who had been around for 10 years, he could show us someone making money. Too bad I left. Had only 1 year to go.

The bottom line is I was one of the top producers at the office and the most I ever made was $27000. But of course, I was taught to say how great I was doing by taking my best month, multiplying it by twelve, and saying I was on pace to make that. We simply were taught to lie. This company absolutely kills self confidence, by shaming us into lying about our incomes.

Since I left, I went to a company in the same industry, doing the same thing, in selling mutual funds and term insurance. In 2001, I earned $43000, and in 2002, I earned $77000 (just got all my T-4's). I would recommend that people learn what they are teaching, but unfortunately, they say how are you going to learn if you can't see real life examples, which means going to see your friends and family.

Primerica taught what was right, at a very elementary level. Unfortunately there is not much of an opportunity beyond that. For someone who buys those books, like Finance for Dummies, this company is for you. For those who want planning at a much higher level, most other companies are more than able and more professional. Avoid the hype at Primerica, but look at their principles. But by no means work there unless you truly like poverty.

Randy tells it like it is ..Same stupid "rah rah" meetings and uneducated "field training" sessions

AUTHOR: Mark - (Canada)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 05, 2003

Randy, being an ex Primerican as well, I have to tell you, you hit the nail right on the head. That is EXACTLY how that ding-dong company operates and if anyone from Primerica disputes that, then they are full of s**t.

My experience was scripted exactly like yours about 2 years ago. Same stupid "rah rah" meetings and uneducated "field training" sessions. I too was brainwashed until my friends finally knocked some sense into me. People at Primerica really believe that people with JOBS or someone who is not involved with their crap are a bunch of losers who will never amount to anything.

Word has it now that cold calling is not allowed.HHMMM .... suppose some Primerica idiot was giving people the wrong impression.Primerica has quite the reputation here in Edmonton as being quite the scam. My friend was involved with them a few months back and he said the turnover rate while he was there was absolutely unreal. Even when I started someone was quitting about every 3 days. One more thing, if you do not produce enough for your upline, he wont give two shits about you. I think these people should be looked into because they are completely giving people the wrong impression.

p.s. If anyone runs into a Primerican(usually at the malls or coffee shops) and he tells you how much he makes, divide that number by 3 or 4 and thats a more accurate figure. Ill say this, Primerica made me a pretty good liar during my time there.
