I signed up with Primus in response to a telephone solicitation on their part. But my first invoice was higher than I had been told it would be. I did not notice that until my second invoice.

Annoyed, I immediately called Telus and enrolled with them. They told me that I could join part way through the month, as they would prorate charges for that month.

Then I called Primus to cancel. I was then told I could not cancel without a month's notice. I told them that since they had broken the contract, I was not obligated to do that. Just prorate my bill, as Telus had done.

I then called 1-700-555-4141 and verified that Telus was, in fact, my long distance service provider.

I paid Primus in full for the month of August 2008. I memo'd the cheque "Final payment". Primus cashed it.

They invoiced me for the months of September, October, November and December. They ignored both my verbal and written requests to cancel my contract.

In an e-mail to me, Primus stated:

"BC Tel informed us that you wanted to maintain your long distance service with us."

This is utterly false. I phoned Telus [not B.C. Tel] and this is what they said:

"There is no doubt that Telus is, and has been, your service provider."

I have my invoices from Telus from September to December 2008.

Primus threatened me with collection. I told them 'Go ahead.' I have an excellent credit rating.

I'm making this report in order that people may know what type of organization Primus is.
