I have lived in my condo 25 yrs and a senior citizen on disability. For 10 months I have tried to get my rotten fence replaced since almost every board is rotting at the top and bottom. Three of Principals own techs agreed it was rotten. The last time I said do it right or don't do it at all. The rotten wood continues to fall apart after their so-called repair because it is rotten. Now I have masking tape holding parts up. The acct manager says they don't have money but are repairing issues I've had to pay out of my pocket for years. I have paid over $75,000 in association fees since I've lived here.

I have told the HOA and Principal that it is a City of Richardson code violation but that does not seem to concern any of them. This is my only asset as I grow older and it is depreciating due to mismanagement. It has caused me extreme mental anguish to deal with this and severe anxiety attacks trying to protect my investment.

Since Principal took over management of our property it looks like section 8 housing. Their lawyers attend our entire annual meeting year before last. We could have fixed a lot of issues with what the lawyers were paid to listen even though they spoke first.

Now all the money is supposedly being spent on basement leak issues. I've flooded over 50 time over the years and I had to pay for the issue. I have an examples of more than one neighbor having to fix their own problems. That is why we pay HOA dues. There have been questionable billing practices for the first few years.

Every time I come home is makes me feel like I live in slums instead of a nice Richardson neighborhood. I have taken pictures of all the rotten wood and calling the City of Richardson to see if they can explain Code Enforcement.

Do not make the mistake of using Principal yourself or anyone else you know considering them. I've always loved my home but would sell to get away from Principals management. No one will buy seeing how the property is being maintained.

I have contacted the acct managers boss and his boss's boss. No resolution. Once the acct mgr said the tech could decide what needed to be done until he said it was too rotten to repair. My unit is in the cornerstone building of the complex so everyone sees it at the stop sign at Custer Pkwy and Lookout.

Fence Repair

AUTHOR: Associa Customer Service - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, January 28, 2013

Hello, I am Stephanie with Associa headquarters.  Both Principal Management Group and Associa are aware of this situation and we encourage you to attend the next board meeting on February 19th.

At the meeting, the board plans to consider levying a special assessment in order to raise funds to replace the fences along with some other repairs, and that decision is expected on or before that next board meeting.

In the meantime, we will make sure maintenance techs come out and repair your fence. If you have any further questions please email your contact information to customerservice@associaonline.com and we make sure an executive gets back to you as soon as possible.
