I came home from work today to find a message from "Paul" of the Prize claims center. Saying I won a prize.. so i am very aware of telemarkers and how people scam.. I really wanted to see what this "company" had to say.. He left a call back number of 877-256-7894. He also request to leave a message for any particular person (another sign its a scam). He just said that they had received an entry to win a car and we had one 1 of 4 major prizes and to call them back. I enter alot of contests so I called back..
This is how they answered (a recording came on)"Thank you for calling. For training purposes and quality assurance this call may be recorded" I stayed on thinking I could screw around with these people.. I get this guy and I am like " I got this message, which contest is this, and he was really generic, "its from malls across America" I am thinking gee that narrows it down, who are you looking for.. He is like whoever enters contests in your household who are over 25. I am like thats me and my mother. Still he didn't ask for my name and finally he asked for the number. So I gave it to them, next he goes "is there an Anthony Cantone there?" I am like "No" he is like really over dramatic and said "oh sorry wrong number" I was like d**n I didn't get to toy with him.. Maybe I wasn't dumb enough for his ploy.. I am really wondering what scam this was all about.
Anyway I made a complaint to the Do Not Call Registry since I am listed on the National Do Not Call List

Guess who called again Three TImes in the Month of January

My friends ( being sarcastic) of the prize claims center have been leaving messages weekly on our answering machine again..the same message everytime.. I got home from work agitated I had to listen to this again.. We have been deleting them the last two times.
This time I picked up the phone dialed, I got a woman, and this is what I said " I WANT THIS COMPANY TO STOP CALLING OUR HOUSE, WE ARE ON THE DO NOT CALL REGISTRY, I KNOW WHAT YOU PEOPLE ARE DOING YOU ARE ALL SCAM ARTISTS, IF THIS DOESN'T STOP I AM GOING TO THE FCC" the woman said " have a nice day, click" she hung up on me..
I then proceeded to go to the National Do not call registry and file another complaint..
My sister also notified me that her friend who also lives in Wantagh has also been receiving those messages, I am wondering now if it is a regional process they are pulling ? who knows.. WEll they haven't called in a week, if they call again, I am filing a form on the FCC website.
