John Powell, Ron Draim and Chad Green worked for a company called Procraft Mid-Atlantic in Baltimore, Maryland. I contracted with them to have my home painted with the Liquid Siding paint system, which was warranted for 25 years against chipping, peeling, fading, flaking and mildew. Within a year of the applicaton, the paint began to peel away from the house. When I called the number to have my problem addressed, I was told that the company had been purchased by John Powell (who was the person who came to my house representing Procraft, sold me the product, took my money, and gave me the 25 year warranty), and that the company was now called Liquid Siding of Maryland. I was assured that Liquid Siding of Maryland would honor all warrantys issued by Procraft. Thus began a year and a half long ordeal of trying to get help for my now seriously failing paint job. When it was apparant that all I was going to get was a run-around, I began to try and peel off the loose paint myself, only to find that the extent of the failure was much more extensive than was initially obvious. Even the paint that looked flat peeled off with no problem. More phone calls, more excuses, more of trying to blame the problems on me or my house. Eventually, I had several reputable paint contractors out to look at my house and give me estimates on fixing it. My house is wood, and where the paint had peeled and cracked, rain water was getting in and affecting the wood. All of the contractors who looked at the job agreed that the house had not been properly prepped, and the Liquid Siding was applied over wet wood. In fact, the Liquid Siding painters power washed the house down to some bare wood, then began applying the coating while the house was still wet. If I wanted to stop the damage and save my house, I had to do something, so I hired one of the contractors to fix the botched job. To date, I have spent $4600 in addition to the $18,000 I paid the Liquid Siding dealer to apply the Liquid Siding coating sysem to my house, and I still owe the painters several thousand dollars more. If Liquid Siding of Maryland has nothing to do with the former Procraft Mid-Atlantic, as John Powell keeps saying, then why have they been promising to help me for a year and a half? Their address and phone number are the same and the same people still work there. If Liquid Siding is, in fact, a completely different company, then I blame John Powell, Ron Draim and Chad Green personally, since they are the same people who I dealt with when contracting to have my house painted. As dealers for Liquid Siding, they are responsible, no matter what they now want to call their company. Do not deal with these people. As soon as they start having problems with their inadequate appliction process with others, they will just change the name of the company again and tell everyone who is having problems that "they are not responsible".

Liquid Siding of Maryland has only been in business since June of 2007

AUTHOR: John Powell - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 21, 2009

Although I was a salesperson for ProCraft MidAtlantic, Inc, I had no control over the application process. ProCraft MidAtlantic closed there doors for business in May of 2007. I applied for and got the distributorship rights for Liquid Siding and started my business in June of 2007. I understand this person's frustration, and would like to help in some way. The situation is a difficult one, since I was the salesperson that visited this person. However, his contract was with ProCraft MidAtlantic, INC which is a totally different entity. It was only logical to keep the numbers and the location was sublet. Mr. Green is no longer an employee with our company, nor is Mr. Drain. I personally don't remember talking to this customer in the last couple of years, I would like to talk to him and see if there is an amicable way to solve his issues.

Sincerely,

John Powell
