I purchased a $79.99 patio set from Big Lots. (3 piece)
I also purchase two pillows at $19.99 each.
When I allowed them to finance me (to build more credit) I realized that this was more of a Scam then a credit card or loan.
They informed me that if I paid the account of "same as cash" then I would not have to pay any other fees.
LIARS! I ended up wanting to pay them off the following week and my balance shows an extra $100 billed to my account and now I can't get anyone to respond to the question: What is the $100 for?
My pay off balance should be around $120. which is what the merchandise cost, but instead it show $220, not to mention that they take out almost $9.00 per week, EVERY week.
Now in order to pay them off early, it will cost me $220 and if I wait and loet it run to term it will cost me $400 plus!
Is that not a rip off?

No its NOT a ripoff. Its called FINANCING!!!! There WILL be a charge EVERY WEEK!!! Perhaps it would have been better to just pay for the items outright. Such a small amount is NOT going to affect your credit in a POSITIVE way. YOU have ASSUMED that its a ripoff BECAUSE YOU have to pay MORE for the items then original priced. But THAT is the cost of having to finance ANY purchase. If YOU want to build credit then YOU need to get yourself a SECURED CREDIT CARD. Its the safest and fastest way to build credit with VERY LITTLE risk to yourself. All YOU have done is defame THEM because YOU are ignorant of the processes involved. NOT a very bright thing to do. Especially on a MEDIA OUTLET such as the web. YOU MUST follow the very same laws that EVERY printed publication MUST follow. By defaming THEM due to YOUR ignorance all YOU have done is paint a nice fat bullseye on YOUR back. If THEY chose to THEY could successfully sue YOU for what YOU posted. Becareful!!!! Companies now a days DO NOT like having to deal with online complaints because most of the time they are baseless and mostly PETTY VENGENCE because someone didn't get their way. Companies now are taking those people who have defamed them to court to PUNISH them for the SPITE they post. If YOU don't believe me just check out ANY Thrifty propane post on this site. If YOU think YOU are safe online and that there is NO WAY they would know it was YOU who wrote this post, THINK AGAIN!!! EVERYTHING you do is logged somewhere. Every site YOU have visited to EVERY email and post YOU have made. A little known fact for YOU. Remember those "cookies" that EVERY site puts on YOUR computer?? Well EVERYTIME you visit a site, YOUR "cookies" are recorded. Meaning that with JUST a court order, THEY can prove beyond a doubt that YOU personally wrote THIS POST. So make sure YOU rebutt your own post and state quite clearly that what YOU WROTE was YOUR OPINION only.
