Property management pros Racked up charges for a year and never told us Meridian Idaho

I first want to say please read the Better Businees bureau's complaints about this company. We lived in one of their rentals for almost 2 years. Loved the house and had no problems until this March we started getting complaints about the lawn and were charged $65.00 for 5 weeds in the front corner of our lawn. Then we get a letter in the mail on May 30th stating that we got 3 days to pay $280.00 for a year and a half in fees that he racked up on us and never called or sent a noticed. This was the first time that we heard anything about these charges. I was told in the letter to email them and email them only if I had any questions about these charges. I emailed them 2 days later about these charges and how I didn't understand what they were for.

The only response I got back was "what is your name and address". I sent my name and address and never got another response, except 2 weeks later we were served with papers for eviction. Eviction later stated that we did not pay rent for June. I did pay rent for June! I emailed them to find out what the heck was going on and he said that I now had $1700.00 in charges, because I never worked out payment arrangements with them for the charges they racked up on us, so they used June's rent to cover some of the charges. I now still owe June's rent and all the late fees for June and now attorney fees. I could not come up with that money so we had to move out early.

I called legal aide who advised me to move out before I was evicted and fight the fight later. If this man would of told me about these charges earlier and not let them rack up, I could of got it taken care of before it was too late.

This company does not like for you bring your rent down to their office. they want you to mail it to them. If it is not in their office on or before the first of the month, they will charge you a $50 late fee. I asked Elmer (office guy) on move in that since we had to mail the rent to them when would it be late. He said "as long as it is post marked by the 3rd of every month they the would not consider it as on time.

Elmer tells you one thing and Tom will change it. They also kept my $1450.00 deposit that they made us pay upon move in, because they stated that we did not have a 2 year rental history. (1 month shy of 2 years). We had to pay a deposit and 1/2.

Even though we only had 4 days to move out. I cleaned that house spotless and I did it knowing he would not give me back my deposit. I did it for my own heart, so when asked if I left the place a mess and I said No....I know that I was not lying. I also have pictures of how clean it was. The only thing is I did not have time to clean the carpets. (Which were not bad). I got a letter stating that he was keeping my deposit, because the house was not left in the same condition that we moved into it and that I did not pay June's rent. He can only state that on the letter, because he knows that he can not leagally charge me for the fake charges he racked against me. Please do not fall for his cheap rental prices. He is a very unkind man who will treat you like a piece of garbage and will just tell you that he is going to sue you. Please stay away from him and his company.
