Propman Property Management Found Unemployed Tenants With Criminal Background And Ignored Us Springfield, Virginia

We hired Propman Property Management in Virginia.  The company president is Steven G Gifford.  Propman Property Management handles rental condos, rental townhouses and rental homes in Northern Virginia.

Propman Property Management of Virginia claims that they screen prospective tenants but this is a lie.  We had a Propman Property rep show up at our house with a barely readable photocopy of what they claimed was a background check, employment check and criminal history check of some prospective tenants.

The photocopy was so fuzzy and hard to read that I was suspicious of its validity.  When I told the rep that I wanted to check out the tenant for myself he threatened that if we did not sign the rental contract that day, they would bill us $695 plus $50 for their commission and the costs to do the background check on the tenants.

My husband told me not to push the issue and I am sorry I didn't fight it.  Propman Property Management sent the tenants to our rental and the basically squatted there since they did not pay any rent past the first month and last month that was collected by Propman Property Management.

The tenants fed us lies as to why they could not pay rent and it took 2 months to get them out.  They were there for a total of 4 months and after Propman Property Management collected their fees we only got 1 1/2 month's rent.

We found marijuana butts and our carpets were covered in black cigarette ash and red juice stains.  They also took apart out faucets and tore down our patio blinds.  There was a hole punched in the drywall and the stink of marijuana and cigarettes took a whole year.

Later I got a call from the tenants former employee because she had stolen clothes and her boss tracked down where she lived (my condo)  I found out that all the information that was on the Propman Property Management tenant applications were fake.

These tenants lied about being employed and on of them only worked for 3 days after they had already moved into my property.  They gave fake Social Security numbers and lied about their criminal background.

I did my own background check and found out that the male tenant was in jail for slashing someone with a razor and the woman was arrested for using marijuana.

Propman Property Management basically said too bad because I had signed their contract which to them meant I accepted the tenants.

Propman Property Management never checked the tenants application and never did any background check of any kind.

Propman Property Management ignored our demand for a refund.

We took Propman Property Management to small claims court in Virginia and they didn't even show up for the hearing.  We won the judgment but Propman never paid the judgment, instead the company moved from one county to another, claim they are now owned by a new owner and continued to ignore the judgment against them.

Propman Property Management is the lowest scum, stay away!!!
