Prosperica Benefits Services ripoff Champlain New York

Any one being contacted by Prosperica Benefits Svcs. Please do not fall for this SCAM. They contacted me at work on Friday. Advising me that I had been approved for a non-secured credit card with a limit of $2,000.00. Considering me credit rating I was very excited to hear such a thing. However I started asking questions as to what Bank the card would be coming from.

The person the phone identified himself as operator #347. I continued asking questions as to where the card would be coming from. He just told me that it would be coming from a bank in my area. Since I already Bank in my area this should have raised a RED FLAG. But against my better judgement I continued with the call. Before I knew it the operator #347 was asking for $259.00 so that they could process the application.

I told him if I was already approved why did I need to pay for the application. Of course he had an answer for this. He claimed that they were just the middle man for the Banks and therefore were required to ask for the processing fee up front. However I should not be discouraged considering I would have a $2,000.00 credit limit awaiting me.

The next step was getting my bank routing number and accoount number so that the processing fee could be deducted from my account. I should have realized at this point something just wasn't right. Again considering my credit rating I thought this might be a new start for me. I gave him the info and he promptly ended the call. I continued getting an uneasy feeling about the call. So being I pulled up what I could about the Company. To my shock and surprise they were listed as Rip-Offs. I called my bank to cancel the check. Another surprised awaited me there. Although my bank would cancel this transaction when it came across, they informed me that this company was known for passing a second transaction for different amount. They also told me that should this happen I would have to come in an sign an unauthorized debit from my account.

I called Prosperica several times to inform them I had canceled the transaction. They said that there were no cancelations. I also told them they were posted on the internet as RIP-OFF'S. The operator said that she didn't care. The transaction would go thru as before. I've checked my bank account all week-end. No transaction as of yet.
