Providian Visa interest ripoff Columbus Georgia

Providian Visa AKA EMerge Mastercard Providian Switched me without any notification from Smart VISA14.99 to a Emerge Mastercard 29.99% APR Columbus Georgia .....

I was a Providian Visa Card holder for a year or so and one day in the mail I get a card from Emerge. When I called them to find out what the card was for I was told that my account had been switched from Providian to Emerge. I thought at first maybe it was because Emerge had bought out the account which I realize sometimes happens.

After two months I finally took a good look at my bill. After sending them two consecutive $50 payments I realized that not much of my balance was going anywhere. I then saw my APR was 29.99% which is outrageous. I called them and got the rudest CSR I have ever had in my life. I asked her if she realized that 29.99% APR is rediculous. She replied - "yeah and....".

Well, needless to say after this card is paid off - it will be cancelled. But, I do hope someone files a class action suit to get us all our money back that we don't have any choice but to pay them.

I realize that I made one late payment to Providian but is that any reason for them to screw me like that?????
