For your own well being avoid PSI. This is a business that just wants your MONEY.
First you sign
up for the "basic seminar'". For me it was $495.00. I spent an entire week-end spilling my guts out to people that I had never seen before. You spend 6 hours Thursday and Friday night and then all day Saturday and Sunday being "counseled" by your peers. What, if any education, do they have to do this? You are asked to divulge your darkest secrets- and surprisingly you do. You are constantly told that "givers gain"?
After the basic they rope you into "PSI 7". This is a fancy way of saying that if you give them $3400.00 they will let you spend an entire week at the "ranch". This is located in Northern California. You are herded into sub par housing, you can't even drink the water, and you are told when to wake and when to go to sleep. During one of the "rope" exercises, I was knocked to the ground by one of the group. There was no concern shown by any of the staff- not once was I asked if I was o.k. or if I thought that I needed any medical attention. It was "get up and get back to what you were doing".

After your week long brainwashing is complete you are asked to sign up for LS. This is the next step- it only costs $3900.00. After the high of making it through the week, you are in the groove and are more than happy to sign up and forl over the money.

They are famous for saying that "givers gain". This is not TRUE. I found myself unemployed and was having a hard time just making ends meet. I called the Denver office and spoke with Mark Shearon. I knew there was a no refund policy but thought that perhaps they would make an exception and even let me have half of the $3900 back. NO WAY- I was the recipient of a pep talk that if I didn't know better I would think that he was reading from "The Secret". There was no concern, no sympathy, just that I needed to get a job and make sure that I was at the seminar that I had signed up for. "Givers gain"??? Perhaps, but it's you who GIVE and PSI that GAINS. If you think that you need PSI, think again. Go buy "The Secret" for $15 and save yourself a lot of money and self respect.

The "Work" and the people are not the same

AUTHOR: MSWJ - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, August 13, 2017

Jennifer, You state you worked for these people for four years. Was that as an employee or a volunteer staff member? I have done "the work" as presented by PSI Seminars. I have never been a paid employee or contractor. Regardless of who is presenting it or representing the company, your experience is up to you. I have met many exceptional people who work for PSI and I have met some I would not trust to hold my chewed gum. Even though I do not respect some of the individuals who are deeply involved with PSI Seminars, I cannot deny the great benefits I have received through my experiences at the Basic, PSI-7, LS, PLD, and Principia. I have been volunteer staff at over a dozen Basic Seminars and at PSI-7, at my own expense. I got a lot out of those experiences. Like it or not, PSI Seminars is a business which must pay its employees, rent for space, travel expenses for facilitators, equipment, maintenance, and all of the other things which go into offering seminars. For financial reasons, the organization needs to fill up classes to stay in business. I worked for a consulting firm which put on seminars for a particular industry. The cost of those seminars was substantiall higher than the Basic, and they were specifically designed to sell the company's services, providing little concrete benefit from the seminars. PSI Seminars does not advertise by any method other than word of mouth. Many personal growth seminar companies began in the early 1970s. PSI seminars is the only one which has continued to exist. It is doing something right.

The Basic is what you make it.

AUTHOR: Professor - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 04, 2017

My understanding is there is far less pressure now to take PSI-7, and I would recommend it to anyone who is open to changing their life for the better. I went to the Basic with a competely closed mind. I did the exercises and fought their attempts to control me - not realizing I was getting in my own way. Halfway through the last day I had a shared experience with another man I had never seen before that weekend. It blew his mind and mine. I spent a lot of time going back in my mind over the other exercises we did that weekend. Two days later, thanks to that weekend, I made a life changing discovery about myself. It was fantastic. Even so, I was hesitant to attend PSI-7, something my wife convinced me to do at the end of the weekend. At PSI-7 I had the opportunity to face a nightmare I had experienced most of my 50+ year life - and conquered it. Was money an issue for me? Yes. And, following The Basic, I was asked to write a textbook which I had been unwilling to write before. At The Basic I learned why I had refused to write it. I wrote the book, and the contract more than paid for my wife's and my tuition to The Basic, PSI-7 and the Leadership courses. Without The Basic, my life would have been much less fulfilled. Take it or not, it's a choice. If you decide you want more from your life, take it. I met millionaires taking PSI courses. Why did they want to do it? Because they wanted more from their lives. I have also met a few people who got nothing from it. You will get out of it what you put into it.

Seems like a good idea at first, but BEWARE!

AUTHOR: Greeley mom - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 16, 2010

As a former "student" of PSI Seminars, I am in total agreement with the people in this post who have said BEWARE.  Sure, there is always speculation about the Basic Seminar -- is it brainwashing or not? Is it a cult? Is it really worth the $395?  No bother.  It's what comes at the end of the Basic that you need to watch out for.

After four days of tearing apart your brain, heart, and soul -- not to mention the sleep deprivation -- these very clever fraudsters then convince you that you "NEED" the PSI-7.  If you don't take it, then you are not a complete person, or it will "change your life forever" -- whatever hooey they are dishing out at the moment.  And, if you decide to simply walk out of the room and not sign up for the PSI-7, rest assured a very well-trained herd of very touchy-feely PSI people will find you and convince you to take it!

As for me, I got talked out of a $1000 "fully refundable" deposit and never saw it again.  Even when I called PSI seminars and told them I was out of work and really needed at least part of that deposit back, they turned a deaf ear to my pleading and acted as if I was some sort of spiritual leper for not considering forking over the remaining money to take the PSI-7.

Bottom line...spend the $15 and get "The Secret", then if you feel really brave, take the Basic Seminar.  But as soon as it starts to wrap up on Sunday afternoon, before all the alligator tears and false promises arise, scoot out quickly -- with wallet or purse FIRMLY in hand -- and don't go back!!!

#8 UPDATE EX-employee responds

I wouldn't recommend PSI to anyone regardless of the Refund!!!!

AUTHOR: Travis - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, November 15, 2009

The answer to you question is yes. PSI uses past graduates from the basic and PSI7 to staff the basic. It's basically free labor and more money for them. PSI will tell you that once you complete PSI7 you can audit the basic class at no charge. They also tell you that you can attend as many times as you want. Several times I re-audited the basic and was placed into a group with the new people attending. I was told not to tell the new people what we were about to do so as not to ruin the experience for them.

I also remember back to the time I was invited to a basic graduation by my friend. I remember people standing up and telling their stories about how PSI changed their lives. Looking back on this I remember the argument I had with my wife that night. I tried to talk her into taking the basic and pointed out the people who stood and related their stories and how it had helped them. My wife said these people reminded her of shills planted in a group to tout the possibilities of PSI. Naturally I got pissed off when she said this and wouldnt listen anymore; but looking back she was right.

When I staffed the basic I saw the same people infiltrating the micro-groups, acting like it was their first time and pretending to sign up for PSI7 without any hesitation. If you were a first timer and had some doubts how much convincing would you need when someone you sat next to for four days signed up without hesitation? I think about this from time to time and wonder if there was one in my group.

Of course you can take the basic for $600.00 and get a refund, minus $50.00, if you dont like it and then argue with the company for several weeks before getting your refund.  I know about this as I used to work there.

And just so you know I ruined my relationship with my wife, family and friends because of PSI. I have tried to explain this to some of my PSI friends and was told to stop being a victim.

I would not recommend PSI seminars to anyone.

My 2 cents for those using Ripoff Report to evaluate PSI

AUTHOR: David - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 11, 2009

I have met people who felt ripped off after attending PSI Seminars.  Sandra's suggestion to buy and watch "The Secret" is sensible if you want to limit your investment to $15.00 and the time spent watching (and re-watching) a powerful movie.  But here's a simple fact: if you take the Basic and you don't feel you got your money's worth they offer you a full refund minus a $50.00 processing fee.  And they honor it.  My father requested a refund right after completing the class in 2005 and he got it within 4 few weeks.  Of course you don't get back your time from Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday, or Sunday.  But of the hundreds of people I have seen go through the Basic I have only seen a handful who didn't like it.

Is PSI Seminars a cult? Possibly (i.e. if you feel that the coercive techniques used by the US Military to train recruits would classify them as a cult then you would likely view PSI as a cult too).  Is PSI a powerful set of classes for personal growth? Yes! Is PSI for everyone? No. :(  Is PSI for you? I have no idea but if were to play the odds then again the answer is yes. What's the potential risk?  Four days, the class registration fee ($50.00) and the time you would wait for your refund (check with PSI before you pay), and the possibility that you may be posting a rip-off report in the future like Sandra.  What's the potential reward?  Peace of mind, better health, more prosperity, stronger relationships, and simply more happiness!  Is Sandra's complaint legitimate?  Absolutely.  Is her viewpoint that you should avoid PSI shared by the vast majority of graduates (99%)?  I sincerely doubt it.  Is this Ripoff Report possibly ripping you off if it scares you away from PSI seminars?  Most likely but whatever you choose I wish you the best.

It was a good experience for me....

AUTHOR: Ms PSI - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, October 23, 2009

I attended this same meeting in Denver Colorado... It was a very good experience for me. Divging this information to your pees is a way of lettin you break free from caring about what other ppl think... I actually had some one pay for my seminar.. and it was given to me as a gift. It hepled me to get passed all the little things from the past that held me back from going after my dreams. I can't thank PSI enough for getting me back to basics.... My speaker was Cameron... A guy from Dallas he didn't insult us we did alot of  having fun while we discovered what it was that happened to us so long ago that made us stop being who we were born. I had a great time. we had a break for lunch and went to Chilis or what ever that restaurant is around the corner from he Holiday in on 25... Could go to the bathroom at anypoint.. but everyone was glued to their chair... Yeah they tell you about the next steps to freeing your mind and thats the  ranch trip.... but how do you think they pay for the hotel for the whole day and the staff. It wasn't cult like at all. i felt like everyone there was  a stranger and therefore they were all in the same boat as I was. Learning how to trust ppl again. Thats
what I got out of it. And I also got that I dont care about what other ppl think about me  now. I think a person could pay thousands for the trainng that I got in just a few days....It was totally worth every cent... And I appreciated it even more bc it was a gift. And one that I really needed to recieve. They tought us that there are some ppl who will go thru life blaming others for their situation when the only person to blame for feeling any way is yourself. For instance... if a person threw cold water in yor face would that make yo mad? No you would make you mad... Have control of your emotions ad the way things effect you... I mean really, What can you do? Every one has a different experience period... Some ppl got it some ppl didnt... but we all were there at graduation and it was alot of fun. I will never forget the experience... I actually found this site while looking to go to my FREE anytime use refresher course that you get with the PSI seminars... So I am going to go back and search for my seminar... and truley i feel sorry for those who were not open to it.. But Honestly I met some truely remarkable ppl there friends that are there forever... But I was open to it... and ready for the change...

What I discovered about Me from PSI Seminars

AUTHOR: TC - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 19, 2009

I attended the Basic PSI Seminar course a couple of years ago and it was nothing I had not heard before. It is very similar to The Secret and to many other personal growth courses and books. The difference is I learned how it applied to me and my life. It was a huge eye opener to me. PSI (all or the courses) helped me see how I could create my life the way I wanted it.

For example I was single and unemployed when I took the class about five years ago.  I am now very happily married to a man I met while doing the "work" in PSI and he is everything I ever wanted in a husband. I have a job that excites me every day, a son who is the light of my world and the confidence to know that I am in controll of my own life.

PSI has also turned me on to other exciting authors and their works like "The Secret", "The Sadona Method" and "The Seat of the Soul".  I will admit that I still have bad days and get frustrated or upset, I now know how to use the tools I always had to get over the rough patches.

I also learned how to relate to all of my loved ones friends and family regaurdless of weather they have chosen to do this work or not. I learned forgivness and how to apply it to myself and others around me. I agree "Givers Gain" and I give alot and I have gained alot.

So PSI is a Religion?

AUTHOR: Patti - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, August 07, 2009

Sorry, but are you saying PSI is a RELIGION? I think it nothing of the kind. PSI is a brainwashing CULT. My husband just left me over this. I am ashamed of him for being this stupid. And if you were my friend I'd be ashamed of you too.

Wow they are powerful!!! I didn't get that from my experience...

AUTHOR: Patrick - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, July 25, 2009

It sounds like PSI is almost god-like and you have NO say in anything. I took the Basic course in May of 1999 and got an enormous benefit from it. I remember it all being about ME. I was given a choice to leave at any time and there was a money-back guarantee, at the time it was $395 and I could re-take the course any time forever for FREE, which I have done almost a dozen times.

I was asked to finish the course because there is a method to the madness as the old saying goes. Again, the entire experience was an opportunity for ME to take a look at MYSELF and learn some things about ME and I could take it or leave it. I FREELY chose to participate in the exercises. There was a very intentional focus on personal responsibility and getting out of my comfort zone. I am thankful that my friend invited me to go because it was the start of some very REAL growth and improvement in my life. They did NOT fix all my problems, that alone only I can do with God's help.

I choose on my own free will to attend the advanced course about 2 years later and had an amazing experience and made some great friends.

Brain-washing is a part of everyone's life, we all grow up learning things that aren't necessarily good or even true, they're just what we accept as truth at the time. As adults we have the opportunity to accept or reject these beliefs, only if we are aware of them though. These courses are what helped ME become aware. At that time I could make an informed decision as to what to do about my beliefs. It's been wonderful to be so free and no longer just running on auto-pilot in my life.

Givers-Gain... Who else said that??? Oh yeah, Jesus said, it is greater to give than to receive. Was he a liar? Is it better to take and use people? I say NO. It sounds to me like you have issues with integrity. You didn't share the entire truth.

Yes it should be avoided.

AUTHOR: Jennifer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, March 08, 2009

The crap will brainwash you into believing you create your own reality and destroy the relationships with your family and friends. PSI should be avoided at all costs. And if you attended PSI in the past call them and DEMAND a refund.

I worked for these as*holes for four years and they ripped off hundreds of people for thousands of dollars.
