I'm a recruiter for one the biggest recruiting companies in Chicago. We've been using Publicdata.com for several years now to perform background checks on potential hires because they are so inexpensive. I'm now getting sued by a potential hire because their record came back positive, even though this person does NOT have a criminal record. I could not place them in a job because I thought they had a criminal past, when in fact they did NOT. I then confirmed this with the Cook County Courthouse. In talking to my colleagues I learned that Publicdata.com routinely posts incorrect, erroneous, and out-dated information on people. When I tried contacting customer support, I was given a very rude run-around, whereas they told me to read the disclaimer on their website. This is a very unreliable service. Don's use it, and better yet don't get sued for using their wrong information!
