 We originally bought 24,000 points in what was then called La Jolla in 2009 and were happy with the facility itself. It is quiet, the service personnel were friendly, the other guests were nice and it was generally a good experience. However, as a part of the sales pitch, the company offered to sell a different timeshare we owned an apply the proceeds to the purchase price. They failed to make any effort do this or to rent our week if we chose not to use it in a given year. They did not do that either.. We visited the resort in December 2013 to make a reservation for December 2014. Instead of making the reservation the sales person ( a man who identified himself as Michael) claimed to be one of the owners and informed us that La Jolla no longer existed as such and was now named Punta Pacifico. According to Michael ( who we later discovered was a convicted felon named Vladimir) we were required to execute a replacement contract to maintain our points. It turned out this was a complete lie and the resort stole near $10,000 from us in the process. Some existing owners approached us and told a similar tale. We immediately cancelled the contract according to Mexican law and contacted Profeco it initiate recovery of our money. We also called our credit card company to claim a fraudulent transaction. As of this writing the matter remains unresolved, but we expect to lose our money as Profeco has no real enforcement authority.
