I ordered some eye cream from a trial ad that posted while on facebook. The cream claimed to make any puffiness or bags disappear and there was a video of a man and his eyes after the cream was added and dried. The trial ad stated that you could try this cream for $4.95 (cost and shipping). When I was ready to finish the order, another cream popped on my order called Derma Soft and it was $4.95 too. I tried to get rid of the Derma Soft, but I couldn't find how to so I thought I would just try it too since it was only $4.95.
After 14 days, I noticed that there was 2 pending charges of $89.95 on my credit card from Pure Cell Eye and Dermasoft. When I contacted the company by phone, I was informed that it was a 14 day trial and after the 14 days I would be charged $89.95. The customer service rep said that this was all written in the "terms and conditions" where it asks if you were 18 yrs or older. They told me that they would not refund the amount since it was day 16 when I called. I got pretty nasty and they finally refunded my money. At first, they offered me a "courtesy 35%, 50% and 75% before finally giving me a full refund. I had to call 2 separate companies and complain because they claim that the Pure Cell and Dermasoft are not the same company but couldn't explain why they are on same ad and sold at same time. I had to threaten to call Better Business Burea and got kind of nasty about how they need to stand behind their product and not try to trick people into buying something they aren't properly informed of during ordering. I also told them that when I recieved the product there was nothing in the box stating that I would need to try for 14 days or cancel in order not to be charged $89.95. The rep continued to tell me that it was my fault and that I should have read the terms when I said that I was over 18. I told her that I agreed that I was over 18 years old, but did not agree to a 14 day trial period where I would be charged $89.95 for some cream. I told her I could have gone to a high end store and purchased some eye cream and I would be able to get a refund if I didn't like it.
I did get a full refund from both companies but I had to get heated and continue to complain and request to speak to a supervisor. The customer service rep said she was emailing her supervisor during our conversation at Pure Cell. The rep at Derma Soft was able to give me full refund during my conversation although he first offered 35%, then 50% and then 75% before finally agreeing to refund full amount.
This company should be shut down. They make their money by tricking people.
