My daughter worked for this company in 2008, she has been a habitual runaway since she was 12 years old, she is now 23 years old and she has traveled with various "crews" for years. I just got her 1099 for 2008 in the mail. The fact that they even have my physical address is ridiculous and that she put it down as her permanent address. I kicked her out after she abandoned her 6 month old son with me 2 years ago.
I will be forwarded a copy of this 1099 to the IRS as well as filing reports on any and all other websites I can find regarding this company. They are NOT LEGITIMATE........no "traveling magazine sales crew" is legitimate, period. Otherwise, why would you need to "travel" from town to town to sell magazines? To skirt the law and try to stay one step ahead of them? Yep, I think so.

These companies ARE illegal, they hire underage teens and they travel from city to city ripping people off.
You are obviously associated with one of the scum companies like this one and that is why you said there is "no problem with the company". The company is scum and they will be treated as such and hunted as such by govt agencies and when the owners are found, they WILL be thrown in jail for not just fraud but rape, molestation, robbery, kidnapping, holding teens against their will, playing teens as slaves; you name it, these companies do it.
And from the sound of your "rebuttal", you are probably associated with them also and you will one day get your JUST REWARD scum bag.
For anyone who believes these companies do not KILL innocent kids........check out this website to see the long list of victims and also fugitives who these companies hide. As of May 6, 2009:

'My daughter worked for this company in 2008'
>>OK. Employment definitely established.
'I just got her 1099 for 2008 in the mail'
>>Based on established employment, yes she should have gotten one.
'The fact that they even have my physical address is ridiculous and that she put it down as her permanent address'
>>Not the company's problem. That's the info she gave them.
'I will be forwarded a copy of this 1099 to the IRS as well as filing reports on any and all other websites I can find regarding this company'
>>Um, why? They followed the law with the information they were provided.
While the rest of your babble indicates you just have a problem with the 'company', so far what you have described IS legitimate. Your problem is with your daughter.

I just spoke to the guy who answered the phone # on th 1099. It is a traveling sales crew and yes, they are required to send out IRS info to whatever they have on file. I will state that while he was nice enough, he confirmed what I knew about my own daughter BUT, these crews are havens for underage runaways. My daughter is not now underage but when a crew first recruited her when she was 16, she was very much underage yet they recruited her anyway.
Don't open your door to anyone selling magazine subscriptions, don't turn your back on them if you do and here is a website of info that would shock anyone, just scroll down to read thru all of the deaths and crimes committed by the people who work on these crews:
