I was traveling without a cell phone and needed to call the individual I was to meet. At a public phone booth at a gas station I read the words on the phone booth indicating that if I used the given phone number the call would be cheaper. (This was put there by qtbill.com)

I dialed this number, received a recorded message to dial in my credit card number. The party I was calling was only about 100 miles away and there was no indication given as to the price of this brief phone call.

When I received the bill I was astonished to see the charges of $14.95 for a one minute call. This is taking unreasonable advantage of an individual in offering service an unconsciounable rates.

Susan,
There appears to be some confusion about this. I want to respond to each of your statements:

* No stickers exist that advertise QTBill.

* For whatever reason, the credit card you were using was unable to be billed for the phone connection you were trying to make. A greeting was played to you that gave the price for the connection if you wanted to receive a direct bill for the service:

"This call can still be completed, however the party or answering machine you are trying to reach is unable to accept charges at this time.To complete this call for 14.95, up to sixty minutes of talk time, and be billed directly to your home, press 1 now."

You would have had to press 1, then enter some personally identifying information. Once we were able to verify your identity for a direct bill, the connection was put through and a direct bill was sent.

If you want more specific information relevant to your situation, please email us at:

service@qtbill.com

Also, please be aware that the call you were trying to make would not have gone through without our service. You would not have been able to get in touch with your party.

Thank you,
Scott
