Quality Paperback Book Club used to be a good website from which to purchase books, and I have bought hundreds over the past decade with no complaints. About 6 months ago they launched an incredibly poorly planned and even more poorly executed "website re-design" project. My "wishlist" which I spent years compiling and from which I ordered many books vanished, without notice or apology.

Even worse, everyone's Bonus Points, which are earned through purchases, also went away. The company line is that "the Bonus Point program will resume in the early fall." Whenever I inquire I get a canned, automated reply that essentially states "We're working on it." I have written to the CEO with no response. I would urge anyone considering joining to wait. If and when my Bonus Points ever return, I plan to use them up and then quit this "club", as I believe they are thieves, do not care about their customers, and are simply out to steal as much as they can get

Not Nonsense at all.

I, too, have sent many queries to QPB regarding the status of my bonus points.  They have claimed that they are revamping the website, but they have made this claim continuously since last summer.  In the most recent reply that I received from them today, they once again, claimed they are revamping the program, but gave no estimate of when they will be done.  I strongly suspect that they have no intention of re-instating our bonus points, or of exchanging them for something comparable.  This is way beyond a marketing decision.  I had bonus points that I had *earned* over the course of a decade or more, and QPB, with no warning, removed them from my account, and appears to have no intention of re-instating them.  Why would QPB possibly need months to revamp their website and program?  Why have the refused to provide any information to me about when they will be re-instated, or what they will be exchanged for?

Absolute Nonsense

So a company does oen thing you don't like and now they are "thieves"?

You aren't shy about taking advantage of every promo, discount or freebie they offer, but when they make a marketing error, you want to tarnish their reputation for everyone - including potential new customers.

How juvenile, how whiny.

QBPC has been around for a long time and probably has a million happy past customers. If you just fulfil your agreement to buy the 1,2 or 3 books after getting a whole bunch for free, it's the best way to get new, quality books for an awesome price.

But they did something you didn't like so you're entitle to rant in public and damage their reputation?

Get a life.
