This "marketing firm" is a scam. Please, If you get an email or phone call saying "we have entry level marketing positions!" and "Great opportunity for growth!" "Can and will lead to management" "Non-profit" These are all lies. These people will promise you the world and give you nothing. Sure, you may be a hard worker, and sure you may make "the pace" and then some but you only get 35% of that which will later either be poured into your gas tank, the stuff that people buy for the "organization"(such as the t-shirts and bags just so you can make pace so your boss doesnt bite your head off) , or supplies you need for "the field "(baby wipes for fingerprinting, tablecloths for your table, food). And if you go on a road trip... dont expect them to pay for a meal.. All you can expect is they will shove 5 of you in one room, in a shabby motel not hotel.... and they WILL NOT re-emburse your gas or your food...And let me tell you, when you go to "the event" If you like standing outside in the elements for 8 hours at a time, potentially in a bad neighborhood alone and sometimes having to guard the money you make with your life sure, go for it. You have to pull at people's heart strings and LIE to them. I did not stutter.... You must lie to get money. There's more morals in dancing on tables. The charity is a scheme... So don't let your manager tell you oh yeah i give so much to the charity... Please. Hold yourself accountable and walk away. Did you ever notice that more times than not the manger lives in a house with a few other people from the office? Why do you think that is? They will tell you, well I am saving money to keep the costs down so I can invest in the next person to get their office... because they earned it. Sure they did... they lied to thousands of people, did your bidding and threw their lives away...

Please, if you see anything like this turn the other way and run. Dont let Their "atmosphere" and "juice" and "negging out" nonsense convince you otherwise. It is a money scam, and thats all it is. These people have been trained to do what they do, say what they say. They have an answer for everything. this is a group of people who manipulate the young workforce and thrive off of naivety and innocence. Of course people want to be their own boss and make a lot of money but in relaity, unless you win the lottery you dont end up making the big bucks until you have worked for it and served you time. And no employees i dont mean standing out in the field for 4-7 months...

People, if you go thru with this you will throw your life away. In certain cases these people will relocate you so that you are not near your family and friends. So you cant be talked out of it. You'll see if you do a "Day of Observation" (you have to go out on an interview and you will see what we had to do all day everyday. and mind you, you DO NOT GET PAID) And we did not get paid for the 4 hours that we worked back at the office... no of course not. This company is getting away legally by the skin of their teeth, but so little that they need to change their names every so often... Legacy Events in Marlton New Jersey used to Daikos Marketing... same address, same company, different name.

Sorry Quantum but you have a f***ed up way of doing business. I know this blog wont change your ways but it may save someone's work life. Walk away, you can make better money selling something worth while than a bunch of crap on a table outside of walmart to people who feel bad for a cause that does not exist.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Confused

AUTHOR: Karleyhunt - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, September 27, 2008

I recently worked for the company "legacy events" and wish I had read most of these statements i'm finding before I even went to the interview. My goal here is to share with you my experiences the good and the bad.

I applied to this company through a job website for my home area. I knew nothing about this job and applied to it along with fifteen other jobs. I didnt expect to hear from them nor did I really want to. Unfortunatly two weeks went by and I still had no job so when I got the e-mail talking about full time job opportunitys and benefits and manager training program I was very excited.

I spent my first two days with this company with the most awesome guy I had ever met. He was energetic and funny and he covered me with support and good thoughts. So although I felt really wierd about standing out side all day in nice cloths trying to sell wax to people I didnt care. After the "day of observation" they took me back to the office and had me take a quiz then offered me the job. I was excited at the talk of three hundred dollars a week ect. I obviously took it and was excited to begin my career in this marketing firm.

The next two weeks were some of my best job experiences and the worst. In the morning they "juice" you up for the day screaming and doing "impacts" trying to make you feel great about your day and what you would be doing with it. And let me tell you I did. I believed that I was doing great and the eight hours on the field in the middle of nowhere under the beating sun was great for the charity and for my paycheck. It wasn't. See in and amongst all this support and circles is a whole bunch of bullsh** First the company does not help the charity they are ripping off innocent people who are having enough trouble in this day and age by giving them usless crap saying that a "portion" of it goes to charity. If you ever see one of these events please make sure you ask them how much this portion is. They don't lie to you thats how they keep things legal. I think you will find it quite shocking. Second they dont give you breaks....or rather they say you can but make it impossible for you to do so. So basically your starving yourself all day. Third you dont get paid for the massive amount of time you spend in the office. Your there for roughly 5 hours of the day and you wont see a dime for it. And last is what they give you for all the "great work" you do. Its next to nothing.

I hate saying bad things about anything much less a company I quite enjoyed at first. The people I worked with were some of the nicest, supporting people I have ever known. And although I seriously doubt the fact that all of them are truely like that I hope that some of you are because what you teach is actually a great way to be. In fact after learning what I did I would love to run my buisness a lot like that. Of course not the scam and lies just the support and fun. I believe in my "american pie" if you will and I thank the company for bringing it into focus for me. I really wish everyone the best and I just hope that you will realize how wrong what your doing is. There are much better ways to make money and you will destroy a lot less young people along the way. And to those who are still working so hard and not quite making it and still being brainwashed by all the "juice" please quit. You can do better.
