What Mr. Hunt fails to include in his report is that he sued Queston Construction, Inc., in Metropolitan court before judge Rosemarie Allred and she dismissed the case because Mr. Hunt could not prove that Queston had done anything wrong.

We were contracted with Mr. Hunt to install a new TPO roof which was completed on April 1, 2010.  The roof performed fine until the first reported leak on July 26, 2010.  We sent out a repair person who found a burn hole in the roof and patched it.  Mr. Hunt continued to report leaks subsequent to the first report even at times when we had no precipitation.  Queston responded to every one of his claims and went so far as to re-roof the area of the reported leak.  We never said no to Mr. Hunt. 

Finally on a perfectly dry day one of our supervisors went to Mr. Hunt's house and found a pond around a vent pipe that penetrated the roof.  The supervisor dried the area completely and decided to cut the roof open in the area to see if there was any water under the membrane because it seemed as though the membrane was holding the water out.  He left the roof to get the tools and materials he would need to open the roof and then repair it.  When he returned he found water had accumulated on the roof in the same area again. 

In cutting the roof open he went in search of a water supply knowing one had to be present.  What he found was that imbedded in tar half way up the vent pipe was what appeared to be a copper fitting.  There was no water line evident only the end of a fitting.  A standard pre-fabricated pipe boot flashing had been installed on the pipe.  When installing the roof the installers never noticed the copper fitting because of the tar and because it was not seeping water.  There existed on the roof another water line running to the swamp cooler.  The installers would have no reason to suspect that there existed any other water lines.

When the supervisor contacted Mr. Hunt to report the findings Mr. Hunt admitted that he had run a new line to the swamp cooler but had never gutted the old line.  The damage Mr. Hunt reported and that Queston verified was not in the area of the copper fitting.  The area of damage was more than 20 feet away at  the chimney on the home.  Queston had notified Mr. Hunt several times that the stucco on his chimney and surrounding parapets was in disrepair and needed fixing if the home was to remain watertight.  At the time of the lawsuit Queston had representatives on Mr. Hunts home and he had still not repaired the major stucco problems he had at the chimney.  The stucco problems were the source of the leaks that caused the damage inside his home.

Queston purchased a City of Albuquerque permit to re-roof the house and the new roof installed by Queston was inspected by the City inspectors and passed all inspection requirements.  If the roof had not been installed correctly or if there had been a water line evident at the time of installation it would not have passed the inspection.  At the time of the installation the copper fitting was not productive and we can only guess that when Mr. Hunt turned his swamp cooler on for the season the old water line became productive producing the leak he reported.

Queston never abandoned the project, sent out workmen more than eight times to try and resolve the reported leak, followed all laws and regulations in place in the City of Albuquerque when re-roofing a home, found the source of the leak and reported that it was a plumbing problem, and further when Mr. Hunt filed a lawsuit against Queston was able to prove in a court of competent law that Queston had done nothing wrong.

I tried to have this report removed as Queston construction is going to sue me.  Rip-Off Report will not allow me to remove the report; they said all I can do is rebuttal so that is what I'm doing.  While I stand by my story about my experience with Queston construction, as every word is true, I regret and apologize for the following statement, "This company is group of hacks and criminals."  I have no right to say that about Queston.  I was angry about my experience with the company and would like to retract that statement.  As I said, Rip-Off Report will not allow me to remove the report, so I can only apologize for that comment and ask that it be stricken from the report.
