I have read the other complaints about Quick Weight Loss Center. I wish I had known that going in. I had heard the radio commercials saying that Quick Weight Loss could help you lose weight fast and be healthy. One guy on the radio said that he lost so much weight he no longer needed to take his insulin, and that quick weight loss had really changed his life. I felt inspired by that because I have health problems too that do not allow me to do much exercise. I'm completely flat footed and I wear braces constantly in my shoes that corrects the alignment of my feet, knees, and hips due to having flat feet. I am in constant pain from it every day. So I go to the quick weight loss center. I made an appointment for a couseltation. So I go in thinking that this couseltation is just that. I'm not making any decisions today, but I'm going to get more information on what the program is and just what it is that they do to help people lose weight. The lady that spoke with me took my weight, measurements, and blood pressure. She also took my health information. I was a little surprised and thought it was a little intrusive to be asking me all about the medications I'm on and everything else, but then I thought well maybe this is apart of finding out if I will be a good candidate for this program. So I go along with it. But now the lady is asking me all kinds of questions like why do I want to lose weight, what does my husband think about my weight, how does it make me feel.... Etc. So finally she asks me how much weight do I want to lose. So now I'm thinking, okay, now we get to the program details. I tell her my ideal weight, and she says in 23 weeks I can get to my ideal weight, plus 6 weeks at no additional cost to add foods back in and make sure I don't gain, then a whole year or 52 weeks after that just to make sure I'm still okay and don't gain any weight after adding foods back in. She also mentions a nutrition class and a behavior modification class to break bad habits with food I guess. She didn't go into details about it. The add on the radio was for 6 weeks for $66. So now I'm surprised that she is talking to me about this very long extensive program. I thought that was a pretty big commitment. Then she puts a contract in front of me that says the regular cost of the program is $1,555, but she is only going to charge me $595. So I'm thinking I'm paying for a nutrition class, and for this accountability relationship type thing with them right? And the supplements are provided with the cost. They give you a start up package. Okay, so I feel a little overwhelmed because I was not expecting all of this to be put in front of me so fast. I thought it was a consultation!! So I sign the contract and hand over my credit card. I'm thinking for sure I want to learn how to be healthy and that's what they are pushing so let's give it a try. So they give me these bags of supplements and snacks and say that it's only enough for a month and to buy for the whole 23 weeks of the program which guarantees my weight loss and the program itself I will have to pay $4,437, and that is with 30% savings of I buy them today. I'm thinking at this point, what did I get myself into?!?! Because now they have my money, there are no refunds as stated on the paper because the program is guaranteed if you buy the supplements and do everything exactly as they say. But they have my money now.... Then they tell me about this? I can't afford that!!!! In no way, shape, or form would O ever have agreed to pay for the initial start up fee had I known they weren't telling me the whole truth!!! So they I decide to not do the additional supplements, that I was in way over my head. Then another lady comes in and says she is going to ask me about my health. Wait.... Didn't I just do that with the last lady? The consultation was only suppose to be 30 minutes and I've been there for almost two hours talking to the other lady. I told the second lady that I had to go get ready for work, that the First Lady all ready asked me all the health stuff and she had the paper with all the same information right in front of her. So the lady says okay, I need to return on Monday to get started with the program. Okay, wait what am I going to be doing? What is the program?! I don't even know. They still haven't even told me what it was!! They just said how it would help me. So I ask well at least tell me what to buy because I only buy groceries on the weekend. So the First Lady gives me the nutrition book that I'm suppose to receive at nutrition class which is on Tuesday. Well if nutrition class is on Tuesday, what am I doing Monday? So they tell me starting Monday I can have unlimited amount of meats that are on this list of choices, two eggs, an orange, and unlimited amount of green veggies. They also want you to do 1/4 teaspoon of Morton lite salt, but you can't cook with it. They want you to take it like a shot mixed with water or sprinkle it on top of your food. So I go home and read the nutrition book. I return on Monday. I return on Tuesday for the nutrition class. A class? It was no class!! This lady read straight from her guide which was basically the whole nutrition book which just says what they expect you to eat and not to eat while doing the program. So I did not get what I expected which was to learn how to eat healthy and live a healthy life style. They never even mentioned exercise. So I felt ripped off immediately. I am told that I can only eat 2 proteins a day, 2 starches, 4 vegetables, 3 of their snacks, 4 oz of skim milk, 2 fruits, 1 serving of fat being olive oil or butter, and 80 oz of water per day. This is the plan!! I finally figured out what the plan is!! The plan is that they tell you it's unlimited on the proteins so that you don't feel deprived. But I'm so skeptical of everything at this point because of how they kinda on the sly pressured me into the program and I all ready feel betrayed. So I used an app to count up all the calories I ate that day. Doctors recommend nothing less than 1,200 calories a day or your body starts to eat muscle. I was only getting 700-750 a day. Not only that, but I could not focus or concentrate while at work at all!! So I complained to them about it. They told me that it was not a calorie counting program, it's a portion controlled program. I only did a week of the program, and every day I got a new person. With each new person, each one of them kept asking what my braces on my legs were when ever I stepped on the scale. The braces made me weigh more so I had to take them off every time to weigh in. With a new person every day asking me every time what that was on my legs, it got so frustrating. They needed to look at my file and stop being so inconsiderate. You don't ask a stranger in the street what kind of cane do they use or what is their handicap when they park in the handicap parking spaces. So why do they need to ask me everytime I come in when it's in my file? Everytime I got a new person I had to re-explain my situation, my job is very physical, I need my calories, I can't concentrate or focus..... Every time I got a different answer. You aren't drinking enough water, that's why you feel bad. You need to eat more protein, no eat more veggies.... That is what tipped me off to the fact that they don't actually know what to do if something happens and you don't feel good. The best I can figure is that they starve you. They give you these appetite suppressants, and you don't eat as much. Well naturally that slows down your metabolism right? So then they give you these pills and supplements to speed up your metabolism. All this is just very unnatural. Then they start adding in the caffeine. I don't do caffeine. It makes me shaky. So I come in feeling shaky one day, and they guy says it's the caffeine in the pills. He says its to speed up metabolism, and give me energy. Why do I need that for energy? Because with not enough calories, it makes you very tired!! Then to top it all off I couldn't sleep after they added the caffeine in. The straw that broke the camels back after all this is that today when I told the lady that I wasn't sleeping well, I was tired everyday, I wasn't getting enough calories, and I was starting to make mistakes at work because I couldn't focus.... Do you know what she said to me? She looked at my food journal, and proceeded to tell me that I needed to go ahead and add one more serving of the caffeine pill, that it was on an increasing dosage to once before every meal. I was only taking one caffeine pill before breakfast, and she wanted me to now take one before breakfast and lunch. But they would not increase it fully to the one before dinner. She also told me that I wasn't following the plan right. Even though my home scale says I'm losing average almost 2lbs a day (doctors recommend 2lbs a week), that I was not eating the right foods and that I would not lose enough weight. I was following suggestions another coworker had suggested to me. Yet everytime I come, there is something I am not doing right. And why would I add even more caffeine when I can't sleep as it is? That lady argued with me about every thing under the sun. Why are your arguing with a customer? And of coarse I'm challenging you because I know you ripped off my money, you are starving me, and giving me pills supposedly to protect my liver functions when all that broken down fats hits my organs. Wow.... I can not believe this. Of course I would have never agreed to this had they told me from the start what it really was!!! And why would I settle for a foggy and tired brain? Because that's what I have been all week from being on this diet!! Not only do they lie by omission, but they don't help you with health problems, they don't have your health at best interest, and they only want your money. This is a terrible, terrible rip off!!!! What worse way to rip someone off than to make them sign a consent to something they didn't even consent to do when they signed the contract aka I did not consent to be starved!! We consented for weight loss meetings, not all the extra crap that comes with it!!!
