QuickenLoans And Ryan Kelly At QuickenLoans Do Not submit a deposit to them under any circumstance Internet

Ryan Kelly assured me the deposit, on my credit card, would NOT be charged until after the house appraisal was done and the loan application went to Underwriting.

He found out our income was too low for the County and State we lived in, and called me to tell me to cancel the appraisal appointment, which I did. That was to save me the deposit.

Quickenloans had already charged my credit card, which I found out when the statement arrived later. I called Ryan Kelly to complain, and he said he would contact "accounting" to get a refund. He later called me to say it looked like accounting would issue a refund the next day.

Two weeks later, no refund. I called my bank and contested the charge, giving them Ryan Kelly's name, phone number, and copies of emails. Within 3 days Ryan Kelly sent two emails to my wife and I, saying "As you know, the deposit we obtained at the beginning of the application is a commitment to do business and is used to order the required third party documents associated with your loan. Although we cannot close the loan at this time, we have provided the ability for you to view, download and print the associated documents that were covered by your deposit."

This is NOT true. Nowhere was such a statement made or documented to us. QuickenLoans is a dishonest company in my opinion, this sales rep was dishonest in my opinion, and I hope everyone avoids doing business with this company based on this and other reports of QuickenLoans loose and shady practices.
