I purchased a Polan Pro mower,48 inch deck. My wife used it one time then it would not move and the primary mower belt was failing. I loaded it up and took it back to Quincy Farm and Home. Since I had only used it one hour I thought that they would simply replace it.WRONG. They told me that the belt was bad due to too much grass around the belt pulleys and that I would have to pay for the belt and installation. Then the hydrostat drive was not adjusted properly.

I cost me hard cash for my effort to get warrantee work done besides hauling the mower 120 miles twice. Now I have the mower home. The first time in use after their work on the mower. Guess what? It would not move. Not even to unload out of the truck. Since I am a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, I investigated the problem. The shift lever on the transmission was cataching on a capscrew at the side of the transmission.

I bent it out 1/8 inch, It then worked properly. Then I started mowing. The grass was 3 inches tall, since I had not had a mower for 2 weeks. 30 minutes passed, The mower belt broke again. I used my 20 year old John Deere 116 for the rest of the year. I have since installed new blades on the Polan( the flat ones) and have put 8 belts on the mower this year. warrantee is gone now. It doesnt matter because it wasnt any good anyway.

I am now going to have to rebuild the deck because it will not work. and the so called repair shops only want to sell anotheer belt at $38.00 each. Electrolux is the manufacter. This deck is used also on Sears mowers. DO NOT BUY POLAN PRODUCTS OR SEARS. you will only be stuck if it needs repairs.

As for the polan??? I guess I will start trying to repair it myself. I hate to trade it in. It will only haunt someone else. It is trully the mower from HELL. And so is ELECTROLUX.

Nothing is 100% error proof

First of all, the analogy of a fifty cent snickers bar to a one thousand dollar tractor is moronic. You can't blame the guy for complaining about a tractor that only ran for an hour. "Joey could buy 2000 snickers bars for the price of that tractor and could be sick every day, for almost 5 1/2 years, because we all know he would keep buying and eating those snickers bars regardless of how sick he was of them. The tractor owner may enjoy snickers, but not from "JOEY". Bottom line: You only get what you pay for, so why would you go from a quality brand like john deere to poulousy substandard piece of equipment? On that thought, I think i'll go have a snickers bar, while breeze through some sears ads.

SEARS fault?

I bought a Snickers bar last week from the check out line at the gas station I filled up at. It tasted bad and made my stomach upset. I suggest to all of you out there to boycott all gas stations, drug stores, Krogers, Walmart, Target, Kmart, Wallgreens, Rite Aid, Movie theaters, Super America, BP, anyone who sells Snickers. They are all to blame.

You shouldnt shop or visit any of these places. Sounds stupid? Get a clue Bozo, you got a bum mower. Next time go to someone other then Quincey's Caddyshack and maybe you would get some real service. That does not mean all Polans suck and all of Electrolux products stink. I would be willing to be you have several Electrolux products in your trailer home that you are not aware of that have been working fine for years. Thank you.
