Qwest Communications Do NOT "Bundle", Cell Phone scam, $200 termination Denver Colorado

My family entered into a new cell phone contract with Qwest, in their "bundle" scam, last May, 2008. By October, three of the phones were broken; one keeps dropping calls, one has very bad audio reception and a third has buttons literally falling off of it. When my daughter went to the kiosk, she was told that they would not help her and that she had to switch to Verizon.

When I called to complain I was told that we all needed to switch, that we were being held to a contract that they were not honoring, it would cost us $200 to terminate unless we waited 'til Feb '09. Verizon stopped taking Qwest "migration" calls due to the complaints about the fees being much higher for less service.

When I just (1 09 09) called again to verify that we could be done with them in Feb., I was told that this date had just arbitrarily changed, they were going to send out a letter 60 days before the 'new' date so that we could be forgiven these unfair charges, and that we were stuck with these broken phones unless we wanted a very cheap substitute phone that included none of the extra features of the phones that we had just bought brand new in May, '08 until that time.

Qwest's business practices are unconscionable and, if your lawyer can beat up their lawyer, illegal. Boycott and/or avoid all Qwest services and associated minions at all costs and every opportunity, as they obviously feel that they are above reproach.
