Rabin research group dennis walters secret shopper new york,new york New York

I recently started to search part time work that can be flexible with my current job. I came across secret shoppers. Not knowing to much about this i received an email from a Mr Dennis walters stating in the next few days i will receive a check and instructions on what to do. Today i got a priority envelope and inside was a check for $1740 and a letter of instructions. I was to go to walmart and a make a money gram to the person listed on the form.  Once that was done , i was to email him with the reference number and i would recieve an email to complete servey . To  my surprise i thought this looked funny, things didnt add up. The address on the envelope , check and location were all different.  The letter came addressed with the Rabin Market reseach group header and an address in ny NY. I went to website and low and behold they have a scammer alert with his name all over it.  They stated not to cash the check or follow any instructions from him. I called the Rabin Company directly  and explained what i got and what i was suppose to do . They stated its a scam , they dont have an office in new york, and the check will bounce , which is from Lakewood CO, and Mr Walters sent this from Fort worth TX. I also called the bank the check was issued to and they said its fake. 

So to all of you out there, get a legit secret shoppers job, and dont fall for this. It seems like a great thing and its a shame peope like Mr Walters is getting away with this and ruining innocent people just trying to make a living. I went a step further went to the local police department and filed a report about this and they will be sending this out, if it is even a real address.
