On November 11 2009 I returned to the store to pick up my notebook and was told the warranty did not cover the repair and the notebook was not serviced due to scratches and a bumper missing on the bottom.
The price for the part they needed is listed at $117.00 and the total cost would be $212.00 which I refused to pay. Due to the fact that If I have the notebook fixed the warranty is void on any future repairs because of the scratch and bumper missing .
I felt that this was a total scam and requested to cancel the warranty and demanded a refund,
am I wrong? am I out of line I asked the rep.
to this date December 10 2009 no refund has been issued to me and I finally got back the notebook in worse condition it was in from the date that I brought it in , which I told the sales associate at the store .

Jeena, just for your information, the person you talked to in Atlanta was not the CEO. Radio Shack is a Texas Corporation and the CEO is in Texas.
The proper person to talk to in Atlanta is the DM, District Manager. They were located just off GA-400 near Northridge Rd. I don't know if they are still at that location. They were there in the late 1980's.

THIS SO CALLED WARRANTY ONLY COVERS YOU IF THE ITEM IS IN THE SAME CONDITION AS WHEN IT WAS BOUGHT. IF YOU HAVE THIS PLAN AND NEED TO USE IT JUST LIE AND SAY THAT THE ITEM STOPPED WORKING AND REQUEST A REFUND. sOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE. tHIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE BOYCOTTED FOR THEIR BLATANT DISHONESTY

Sorry this happened to you. I guess you should have read all the stuff on this site about Radio Shack. I had a situation with an AKAI T.V....paid $700 for it (charged, excuse me)..still paying for it. After 1 1/2 it just stopped working...Radio Shack is a rip off and that is that. I even went as far as contacted the CEO in Atlanta...they offered me a discount if I go into the store and pick another one out. I noticed that they were not carrying the AKAI tv anymore...hmmm wonder why? Anyway, I drove down, picked out another tv and then was told that they would give me $23 off of the tv. Guess what I told them. I even picketed their business. Loosers. I will not even step one foot in any Radio Shack.
My $700 flatscreen is now outside in my storage 'shack'...sitting there just rotting away. Oh, by the way...the reason I could not get it fixed is because the company AKAI does not make the (2) components I need to replace anymore. One was the power supply and the other was the mother board....both of these would have cost about $600 to replace...how convenient for Radio Shack.
