Do not take your pet to this groomer. Not only my pet but also myself had a very bad experience there. i took my pet for a grooming, he is a small breed dog weighting 12 pounds. When I returned to pick up my pet at the end of the afternoon, she told me she was not finished since he was a very difficult dog (mind you we are not talking about a pitbull here, but a poodle!). She told me the dog had an ear infection and send my dog home without finishing his grooming since he was being difficult, told me to return after 3 days so she could cut some of his nails that she did not do. She also told me to put some ice on his ear and take him to the vet. For my surprise, I got home and my dog's ear was full of blood! The dog has not been the same since he went there. He hides from people all day and if you try to get near him he starts crying even if youre not touching him. It makes me under what she did to him since he is so traumatized. If she saw that he had an ear infection, why didnt she stop pulling the hair out of his ears and called me explaining what was happening? Why would a professional groomer see an infection and carry on pulling the hairs off the inside of the ear until it caused it to bleed? She didnt even attempt to clean off the blood, she sent him home with the ears full of blood and all hurt on the inside. I mean, any professional groomer would at least contact the owner to tell him what was happening. She could have stopped the grooming once she saw his ear had an infection. infections do not bleed unless you hurt it, and pulling the hair out will hurt the ear even more. When I went back to complain about it, she told me to get the F* out of the shop, did not want to give me the receipt. She never appologised, never tried to make the situation any better by offering my money back or just by being professional and talking nice. She was so unprofessional that once I told her I was going to call the police because she was refusing to give me the receipt she actually got the receipt and threw it on my face. To cut the story short, my dog ears were hurt so bad that to treat the infection that would just consist of flushing and cleaning the ear now involves sedating the dog, antibiotics, pain medice and a bill of over $300 that I have to pay for. I never expected her to pay for the ear infection of my dog, but she aggravated it by pulling the hair out and not cleaning the bleeding. Also, the tip of my dog's ears are cut and his grooming unfinished. It is hard to believe that someone who claims to be so professional has 'butchered' a poodle and treated a pregnant woman the way she did.

Ear infections and grooming

AUTHOR: Devilsadvocate4education*just My Opinions* - (U.S.A.)

Hair in the ears is quite often a contribution to ear infections and it should be pulled whether there is an infection evident or not. It would have been done one way or the other as hair in the ear would complicate and probably prolong treatment. By getting the hair out she was probably attempting to do what was best and healthiest for your pup (at an apparent risk to herself). Bleeding is usually caused by the pup scratching at the ear themselves.

When I returned to pick up my pet at the end of the afternoon, she told me she was not finished since he was a very difficult dog (mind you we are not talking about a pitbull here, but a poodle!). - Some dogs don't like their ears messed with anyways, but painful ear infections usually complicate matters. If the vet is sedating your pup imagine what they went through at the groomer's trying to get the neccesary maintenance accomplished without sedation. Whether it's a poodle or a pit they can still cause damage which you can then be held responsible for (doctor bills and for more serious damage there may be an issue with the fact that a groomer's work depends on the full use of their hands) and most dogs that bite must at least be quarantined for a short period usually if not worse. And there is a higher risk of the pet's behavior causing injury to themselves as well if they are in the mood to be (or are always) difficult. Size isn't really a factor in 'difficult'.

Hope the little guy feels better soon. *just my opinions*
