I'm a big fan of Rally's, and may even call it my favorite fast food joint. That being said, I have been know to drive WAY out of my way to go to a Rally's that is not near me to avoid the one that is RIGHT down the street.
I get the same thing every time I go to Rally's, #5 combo, medium. The menu board at the drive through states that it is $5.49 for the medium sized combo. The small combo is $4.99 and the large is $5.99 or somewhere thereabouts.
So my problem begins with a gal, don't know her name, but she's a young black woman with tattoos and braids. I order my combo (the same one I get EVERY time) and when I get to the window, she's telling me its $9 and change. I told her that can't be right. She states she is new to the register and will check. She finds that she has charged me for two burgers in one combo and calls the manager over to help her correct the problem. I have patience, she's new, no problem. I wait.
The manager comes over (a middle aged blonde white woman) and seems very agitated (in general). She's whipping her head around, flailing her arms, and telling this girl to "get away a minute while I figure out what you've done!" I sit there at the OPEN window where I can hear everything. The manager not ONCE acknowledges me, but instead asks the girl "what did she order again?", "how many does she want?", "what size does she want?". Ok fine, she's teaching something.
So she finally wipes out the mistakes (supposedly) and the girl tells me my new total is $7 and change. I told her that is STILL wrong. She looks at the register again and shakes her head and says, "no, that's correct." I said "the menu board says it's $5.49". She said "Well, there's an additional charge to upsize to medium size." I told her, "No, that IS the price of a medium combo. Small is $5-something and large is $6-something. She shrugs like she could give a s**t and says again, "well, that's the price that's coming up."
I shake my head and just say "eff it" and pay the $7-something so I can get my food and get home, making a mental note to contact Rally's corporate headquarters about it later.
When I get the receipt, it shows that the combo price was not charged because each individual item was run up individually. Of course its more expensive "ala carte". Whatever. As luck would have it (ha!), the receipt had a phone number and email address on the back for feedback. I emailed the whole story to them, just as I have done here. That's been about a month ago and I've heard nothing back...nor do I plan to.
I know what you're thinking...just stop going there, don't give them any more of my money! Funny thing is, every OTHER Rally's has been right on the money when it comes to charging me. I have no problems anywhere but THIS ONE Rally's. I went a completely different time of day the next time and the order was priced correctly. I saved that receipt and keep it in my car to SHOW them when they overcharge me. Believe it or not, they've tried to do the same thing a couple times since then (once it was the same girl I dealt with the first time), but once I show them the receipt from the previous visit with the CORRECT charge, they always change it.
Isn't it sad I have to follow up to be charged correctly? Wow. Oh well, I will still go to Rally's, even this one...but I'll never forget that they owe me $2 from that visit.

most of the Rally's have closed around here the by my college closed. (a friend of mine used to work there. they didn't give her notice until THE WEEK THEY WERE CLOSING. i guess the district manager or some big Rally's offical came in and said Friday is everyone's last day we're closing the place down). The one near Kroger's closed(they bulldozed it put a gas station over it). They closed the one near Fazoli's but that one needs some SERIOUS attention. I bet weeds are 6-7 ft tall outside it. I went to the one they bulldozed(prior to them closing it) The workers there seem pissed off. and since then I won't go back. They need the customer more than we need them.

a long time ago. The same thing was happening at EVERY one. ALWAYS some freak show employee trying to overcharge me,- once a "manager" was trying to charge me 5 bucks for a medium coke. I told him to shove it and drove next door to the shell.
I feel alot healthier now that I've quit going too. And don't think these losers aren't spitting in your food.

So the moral of this story is that even if a particular resturant gives you bad service as long as it is
your favorite fast food "joint" that it is okay.
Yea that gives them a lot of incentive to change doesn't it.
