Filled out a "win a trip" contest form at a show, and of course I won. Three days in Orlando, 4 day cruise to the Bahamas, 2 days in Ft. Lauderdale, all for $299/person. I told them I didn't have my credit card number with me, so they gave me a phone number to call back in. Googled them as soon as I got off the phone...and landed here.

Companies like this make me sick! For anyone who has been burned by this company here's your chance to get back at them...start flooding their phone lines!

so you guys think that the 1 800 203 9783 is our phone number?? Its the customer service number and chances are the person who called you cant be reached at that number. see we have different ramada rooms all over florida and thats the number for our corporate office in ft. lauderdale. Im currentle employed with ramada and we're not anywhere close to as bad as you guys are making us sound.

Im sorry you guys have had some bad experiences, but im reading these stories and they're outrageous. 1st of all our package is'nt 199 per person, its 249 double occupancy so 498 in total so whoever it is that is calling you they dont even know the package and i apologize for their stupidity...i hope you guys have better experiences in the future with vacations...

Calgary's summer scam

Hi,

I have too "won" a wonderful package after leaving my name during the AfrikaDey event here in Calgary. I wonder if every festival got those scammers.

Everybody that have had problem here in Calgary should write to the media (CBC, Herald, Sun etc) AND to the organizers of the festival that you have attended. The organizers are responsible of their choice. They have the moral obligation to find out who is using their booths.

A few things to do if you JUST got scammed:

1) Cancel your credit card!
2) under both Alberta (and Ontario, and probably most provinces) and Florida law, any contract "signed" by phone can be canceled within 10 or 30 days after you receive the printed copy of the contract, WITHOUT PROVIDING ANY REASONS. So call 1-800-203-9783 (the number they give) and ask to cancel your contract. Do NOT give them any reason, as they will have a perfect solution for you to keep your package.

now, and this is very important (got it from my banker, Visa services... which knew this company, unfortunately, 'very well')

A) When you call, write down the name, if possible last name or worker ID, the exact time and date that you made the call. If they put you on hold for more than 10 minutes, hang up and call again, repetitively. Make sure to write down the info of EVERYONE you talk to. CAUTION: do not set a "partial refund agreement" with them. If you do so, say bye bye to the remaining of your money!

If they refuse to give you a FULL refund within 30 days, the bank will go after them to get the money back (end of the problems)

B) They will send you the package and ask for a signature. DO NOT ACCEPT THE PACKAGE. Returning it to the sender means you are refusing the contract (which you can). If nothing happens after 30 days, the bank will go after them.

C) If you don't receive a package at all, it is even easier! ... the bank will go after them (you never received what you have paid for!)

The banker added that if you follow point 1), then A and/or B and/or C, people usually get a full refund.

Then, with caution (give time to the process), do send a letter to the Bureau for Better Business, Florida attorney, the press and possibly to the Albertan court.

In reference to the potential traveler from Alberta, $299.00 was absolutely a deal
for what you were going to receive. You can't lodge for a week at that price, let
alone have meals, a cruise, etc. We are proud of our statistics today. We have
had over a million people travel with us, comparing the odds, of disgruntle travelers
versus satisfied ones, were doing very well.

Satisfied customer verses unsatisfied, the numbers are there for all to see. Every major airline, restaurant,hotel, yes and vacation corporations have those that are not satisfied. But there are alot that are, and the numbers will show the balance weighs in favor of the likes, not dislikes, or they would not continue to be in operation. Ramada is a name well known, by all travelers, and will continue to strive in excellence, long after these small amounts of unsatisfied consumers are no longer complaining.
