Ranchers Pride Meats Pushy, pressured, deceptive sales tactics Brandon, Ia South Dakota

Just want to alert everyone to the dangers of predators trying to pray on older folks in the urban/country communities and trying to scam them...Two young men came to our house ( we live in the country) claiming to be salesman from RANCHERS PRIDE MEATS (I'd never heard of them) I wasn't home, but Dean (my husband) was. They distracted him, intimidated and used high tactic sales to force him to buy something., They were extremely pushy,and bullied him to buy.. They Told him a ...guy named Earl Dibbles from Independence ordered a freezer full of meat and couldn't accept it because his freezer was broke down due to a flooded basement. They wanted to unload the whole freezer and the contents for a little over 1,000.00 After much refusal and discussion, Dean agreed to buy 3 boxes of meat. It started out at 650.00. That wasn't enough, told him there was tax. so after tax would be 723.00. he wrote a check for 723.00. By this time he just wanted to get them gone.. he wrote the check for the amount to the company they represented( Ranchers Pride Meats). They filled our small freezer and took the boxes the product came in with them. Did NOT give him a receipt. an hour goes by... A friend/coworker comes by to visit, they drove by again and didn't stop. Once the friend left, the two men came back. They told my husband they needed (GAS) money and would he please re-write the check in the name of one of them instead of the company.. He refused at first, the pressured him again and he finally agreed. When I got home he told me what had happened. We went online looking at reviews of this company, etc. Found very bad reviews and decided to cancel. Called the bank to cancel his check, called the company and they called us every name in the book! Wouldn't even listen. We even called the local Buch. Co Sherriffs office to report this. We called this company to let them know we have cancelled the check and they should send someone to pick up all the meat, but she told us we were the one's breaking the law and NO ONE would be coming to pick up anything. WOW!
